I'm right to think Harm's Way is pretty solid in white draft decks that don't have access to much removal through other colors? GW or something especially.
Edit: actually prob good even with other colors with direct damage and removal
mythics are gay, it takes roughly 3boxes to get 1 of each mythic
Baneslayer is largely hype atm, it shows up in some 5cc decks but thats about it, good chance it becomes useful in Oct though(along with the new M10 lands that really only show up in Faeries, RB and Elves)
Pretty sure baneslayer isn't completely awesome in m10 draft anyway. The ratio of solid removal to decent creature is beyond ridiculous. We have all the removal that we had in shards, and absolutely nothing to use it on. "I'll Doom Blade your.... hmmm... on second thought I'll just hold onto it".
And Safe Passage is completely broken. It goes 1 for 1 half the time, and it's a complete blowout the other half.
Also, what do people like for archetypes? I've heard good things about black and blue, but for the life of me I can't make them work as well as W/x.
I've found:
Wr: Safe Passage/Blinding Mage splash for Pyroclasm/Fireball. Easy deck to put together, and since you'll be drafting the best mass removal spell it's pretty difficult to counter outside of Goblin Artillery.
UG: Howl of the Night Pack/Merfolk Looter. Stall until turn 10. Make 8+ 2/2 guys. Win. Problem is that you never know if you'll get a Howl.
UW skies: Fliers/Soul Warden/Safe Passage/Mind Control. Soul Warden is a critical piece to the puzzle, as it gains 5-10 life for 1 mana and often gets in for a few points on its' own. You basically race without ever blocking, and use Safe Passage offensively on your attack phase. Bad part: dies epically to a T3 Goblin Artillery.
I almost always force mono-black. When the deck works outs, it's totally insane. Sometimes I'll splash a second color, and sometimes I'll be short on playables, so it's a gamble to try for it.
So, I played a Cruise Qualifier today, and got 4th. I was playing Kithkin (my friend was playing BR, and we both made top 4). I ran into Time Sieve and he ran into another Kithkin. It was a pretty epic failure matchup wise.
I think Merfolk and Time Sieve are two of the best and most underrated decks in Standard.
