Quit now while you still have your life.

after you declare blockers
if you blocked with 2 or more creatures your opponent sets the order he's going to deal damage

after that you play any tricks like giant growth(with the new setup you can create some absolute blowouts with tricks/removal), also at this time you put the regeneration shield up

after you both pass, damage is assigned and dealt in one smooth motion

I haven't played online since the new rules came into effect. Does this mean that lifelink doesn't use the stack either?

Your at 2 life. if you have a 2/2 life link and u are attacked by two seperate 2/2 creatures, you can block one and survive -- lifelink does not stack its an immediate lifegain.

Also, the card lifelink is not so playable anymore as you can't play lifelink on your opponent's creature and expect to gain life as the creature deals damage. The creature gains the ability lifelink so your opponent would be gaining.

An aside: Bounce got much, much worse with the new rules right?

both lifelink and deathtouch are static abilities(like flying/trample etc)

so yeah they no longer use the stack, and you can't have multiple instances anymore, a single regeneration shield stops lethal+deathtouch now instead of needing a shield for lethal and each instance of deathtouch

I really like this change, triple lifelink bs could get really annoying and doesn't make sense given how every other ability worked

for the most part yeah, there are a few spots where you can use it aggressively as basically the same level as before, but the kill/save your dude is a thing of the past

Lol. Anyone else? Should I buy boosters or what? I want to start off pretty cheap, to get the hang of playing online, how is the pauper deck stuff (all commons)? Can you find a lot of games for them?

its very very strong in limited, easily a 1st pick card that is only outclassed by a few cards in the set

for constructed its pretty meh, being a sorcery really hurts it

A funny story regarding the new rules (in this case, lifelink):

I was at 20, guy playing green has like 5 creatures in play, casts overrun, his total damage is 28, I have 8 toughness in creatures. But one of my creature is the 2/1 lifelink creature so thanks to the new rule, I go to 2, instead of being at 0 first. Alpha strike the next turn for the win.

And he was going to lose the next turn anyways, so he had to cast it and hope I mess up..

This is more of less correct, but you need to be playing as the aggro deck, so if you have a bunch of horned turtles as your beaters, its probably not worth it.

So under the old rules, you would hit 0 before Lifelink and thus die?

Correct.

Under old rules, I would take all the damage at once, and then lifelink would bring me to 2, but since I would have been at 0, I wouldn't gain life. But now that they are applied at the same time, I survive.

When you sign up to MTGO you get 15 of each basic land. So you can use the freebots to get other commons.

Nip Gwyllion is awful.-> Chittering Rats is good. You don't need all that life gain, cut soul wardens. Add Gravediggers or 4B 3/3 Goblin Gravedigger from lorwyn.

Last Gasp -> Ichor Slick (so many options, just play it, or cycle it or Cycle+Madness).

Why duress? It's ok, but there is no real need for it at pauper as some decks play no non-creatures. It's good sideb. card though. Castigate is probably better maindeck.

I'd love to play blue for Mulldrifters, it would be so sick in that deck.
With the changes you should play 1 or 2 lands more, easy 4 Basilica.
Phyrexian Rager would be good too.

pauper queues still pay worthless 10th ed. boosters so basically wont fire for next 3 weeks until they change to m10....
so you're stuck to casual if you want to play pauper now
