Hm. No bomb mythics in the Kaladesh championships for me but my deck is solid. I think I have the set pretty well solved so it's on me to mess it up. I don't enjoy long mtgo grinds as much as poker tourneys. Gambling slightly with a higher curve to maximize my card values but i have a couple fragments/dromadaries if the going gets tough....

Anyone play commander? Was really pissed when I sold my mtgo collection in '12ish for $350, after drafting for years with at least $3k+ wasted on that bull****. In hindsight, it seems like it was the time to get out and that card values are even worse now.

MTGO is bugger than spider ****, but seems like the opportunity to get in while cards are as cheap as they are. Can make a pretty legit commander deck for less than $10 if you are part of the casual crowd.

Let me know if anyone wants to play any games. I'm still pretty bad at magic and was never better than a 1600 limited player, granted I have quit drinking since then and replaced with copious amounts of weed.

from what I've heard there are no longer core sets
Core sets are gone, Standard rotation's back to the way it used to be with 2 blocks (a year's worth of sets) rotating out with the September/October large set release.

Been playing for the first time in a long time. I didn't have the cards so I buy cards for bg constricter. Bg constricter vs Marduk vehicles is fun matchup to play imo.

I haven't played magic seriously in ten years but I'm gonna go pro.

gl.

I'm having my RPTQ on Saturday. Gonna get steamrolled probably since anyone playing online will be much better than paper. Can't justify driving 5 hours though. Meta has been super hostile to BG lately which is coincidentally my deck of choice. RIP

Hi , I'm anyway just bought some cards and played at the tough local card store of the three went 2-2-1 in a 5$ buy in Wednesday tourney with bg constricter , the only type 2 deck I have cards for now. I briefly read the decks mardu etc, and picked Golgari cards . I need more cards and to play a little bit . If it's ok I'll post a pictures of mm3 box when I get it.

I played it once with no idea what to do against it . That cat. My favorite new card is tiger less tracker. I like how he searches for clues

I think the Saheeli decks have great games against Mardu. You great really complicated board states with all the vehicles, planeswalkers, Whirler Virtuosos and energy counters.

The problem is that there's no diversity at all. There's nearly no cards that are great against Mardu, so you can never have much of an edge on that deck, and it's easy to be a big underdog. The Copycat combo is so broken that it hangs out at the top even with a D+ supporting cast of draft uncommons. I gotta think Felidar Guardian has 0% chance of staying unbanned through 6 more set releases.

well didn't ban it today

i agree that mardu vs saheeli can actually have interesting and complex games. it just stops being fun to play or watch when those decks are 90% of the matchups

Seems like they are holding off bans until right before protour, I have a hard time imagining they are going to just let things fly with Mardu / Saheeli.

I dont have the cards for either, i've only been playing for two weeks so im not going to invest in another deck until amonkhet comes out. i might pick up saheeli because i got three boxes to restart my collection 2 aer/1 kld and pulled 1 sahelli and 4 felidar. i guess i really just need to pick up three saheeli somewhere and then bam! itsa deck.

when amonkhet comes out is when ill probably start playtesting seriously

Be careful with Saheeli, major risk for being banned at some point.

cub has to be banned with rotation and should have been monday. it just makes so many decks unplayable. you cant play good cards like ishkana on curve without having to cross your fingers and hope you arent dead. miss your turn 2 drop and opponent drops saheeli, cant tap out for the rest of the game. and as a result any deck that would be good against mardu is out of the meta

And even if you have 2-drop, it has to be something that threatens to hits for 4.

I'm fairly convinced Felidar and maybe 1-2 pieces of Mardu will be out next B&R announcement before Amonkhet, I think they realized that fresh feeling standard's sell well and didn't want to give people 6 weeks to solve the post-Saheeli format so they could juice sales.

Thanks for the offer but just so you know I'm talking about physical cards. I play hearthstone online and magic offline. I should probably set up an account though. I'll show you some pictures to understand what I mean. Also why can't I get mtgo to work on Windows 10. I paid 9.99 for an account and it won't download the software.

I hope to have an online collection too but I have an addictive personality and really kind of worried about spending 10k for virtual magic cards.

i used to play magic live since the online software is so bad but i quickly grew tired of spending like 6 hours to play four matches. so much of organized magic was just sitting around. plus the cards online are so liquid if you want to change up decks

When I fell in love with magic there was no mtgo. Also I'm being serious about I downloaded it and it didn't work. I don't know why.

The first tournament I went to was a jss qualifier in 98. I didn't know the real rules fully, and was playing a home brew of green and blue. This was when goblin welder/ memory jar and the academy dream halls deck were legal. In the first round I got paired against the other clueless guy In the tournament. I won. So in the second round I got the bye. So it's the third round right and I'm 2-0. I'm playing against a super serious guy piloting a fully play tested dream halls deck. And he's like assuming I'm ****ing with him when I say I don't understand upkeep or " the steps" or how instants work.
