So I haven't played in over a year and a half and apparently I'm ok at this m14 draft lol

I think that's a 4-0 deck if you start with 6 cards to their 7

Best way to lose with that deck is to play 16 lands.

think the main might be misbuilt too

That deck is closer to a 18 land deck than a 16 land deck, imo, and I'd get at least one of the mastiffs into the main. I'm not sure it's clearly a draw deck either, though I think it probably is.

You have 4 blue permanents. Boarding in Thassa's Ire cannot possibly be correct.

jvs

fish on a heater imo

Play 17 lands, and at least 1 mastiff, cut the 3/1 for 2, and not positive the other cut but im guessing the harvest alseid.

man the switch to best of 3 in quarters/semis is still one of the dumbest moves Wotc has done

changing play/draw to be based on seeding is an example of a good change

I liked it. Means we can watch every match.

Yeah I like it more as a viewer since I get to watch the entire top 8, but I recognize as a player it's significantly worse.

Exactly. Great choice for everyone except the players in the Top 8.

Chapin worked a long time for this win, good on him for making it to the top.

It would be interesting to find out how many Bo5 start off 2-1 but have the losing player come back to win. Even the results if this tourney would have been the same if the finals were Bo3.

that format was unwatchable and makes me fear for the future standard seriously there"s like 5 good cards in all theros bloc

broken cards + ****ty removal enjoy your elspeth/coursier/sphinx mirror matches

Wafo-tapa played no island this means something is broken in the game

Almost every block format is that way

There was quite a lot of variety in the coursier/elspeth decks Chapin and the finalist decks were same colors and completely different the semi decks were completely different than the finals decks too

So 4 distinct decks in final 4 is pretty good

tbf elspeth is a stupid card in a block format

so you are saying the best card in a block featured heavily in the block pro tour? how shocking

It doesn't carry over to new standard that often

Temepered steel decks dominated scars block pt and was a horrible standard deck, jund in alara block was a mess and really streamlined in standard

Its tough to say but there will be 500 cards extra in the format which basically doubles the pool

Turns out Library is as broken in Vintage Masters as it was in cube, probably a fair bit stronger since the format is slower(though still quite fast)

Easily beat a t4 Jace, its the best grinding card, you can get 1 for 1'd for days with it and you win those games always

Benevolent bodyguard secret OP in the set, the bounce/removal is quite good and auras like Elephant Guide/Empyrial Armor can win games with a little protection

White is the best color and I still somehow got Radiant Archangel 8th in a draft, it's way stronger than any of the white common/uncommons and I can't think of a different color common/uncommon that is better

vintage master is hilarious, watching lsv get browned by t1 black lotus battle screech 2 games in a row just the best

I haven't played myself but I get the impression that any deck with 2+ battle screeches and a goblin trenches is a favourite to go 3-0. Those two cards are so busted and control (ie the only deck that plays wraths) doesn't seem that powerful.

Screech is def way too good to be common, its super easy to flashback

haha just had my most broken start to a game on the draw

t1 library
t2 mox land aquamoeba
t3 arrogant wurm
with basically a free ancestral in there from library, I've had library in 2 drafts, and its so unbelievably hard to lose if you get it going I think I've drawn 4.5 cards on average with it when I had it in opener

Not sure if I should get rid of the Sapphire now or wait on it, I barely modo anymore

Been using the beta for the last few days and keep finding myself having to restart the client. When I'm trying to sell things to bots, about 20% of the time it just keeps up the "waiting for them to accept invitation" screen. When I cancel it, the client thinks I'm in a trade and won't let me enter a new trade (and the chat box pops up for the bot saying to type in buy or sell). So I can either wait ~ 5 minutes for the bot to close the trade on its own or restart. It's been pretty frustrating. Then the client crashed on me twice during drafts. It just isn't ready. Disappointed it's being forced on us as is.
