I forgot RM Seafood at Mandalay. It's Gobbo's fav seafood place, so I gotta recommend it.

Mundo is my favorite expensive Mexican place, it's at the World Market Center, which puts it pretty close to downtown just east of the strip. I prefer the pork tenderloin of the entrees at dinner, but again can't tell you not to get anything on the menu.

Near Strip - WEST

Rio Not even on dinner breaks, at least for me

Palms

I've only had N9ne which is maybe a cut below CUT and Delmonico but still a good one if people demand it. Heard good things about Alize and Simon but not from anyone who I've vetted.

There's an In and Out just west of the strip on Tropicana for those that crave it, I heartily recommend it if you've only heard of it.

Chinatown Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh yesssssssssssss

Thai Style Noodle House is my fav cheap Thai place. At Wynn and Spring Mountain. Order what you like and it'll be delicious.

Lee's Sandwiches a short jog west of TSNH, a 24-hour Vietnamese and European style sandwich place. Very delicious.

Pho Kim Long 24 hour Pho, one of the better options at all times of day.

Honey Pig I don't like Korean BBQ much, but if you like it this is the place.

Ichiza excellent Japanese small plates.

Raku same deal as Ichiza but higher end, the potato stuffed corn and wasabi steak skewers, oh boy.

Monta the most popular ramen shop.

Kabuto the "secret sushi" Only seats a few people, really tasty stuff.

Ronald's Donuts Vegan (YES VEGAN) donuts of supreme quality.

Far//Away (UCWIDT?)

Komex actually close enough to the site to where we might be able to get to-go if we time it amazingly, Korean-Mexican fusion at Decatur and Washington. Again, order what you like but I recommend the wantons and some pork belly fusion tacos. Be aware it's closed Mondays.

Pop's is a 24 hour philly cheesesteak place at Decatur and Alta. A frequent stop "on my way" home from Bellagio.

Taco Taco my new favorite Mexican taqueria, located at Tropicana and Pecos. I recommend a vampiro (2 tostadas, with cheese griddled on, put meat and salsa in between the 2, enjoy!) with pastor, but choose whatever meat you like.

Taqueria La Casa Del Pastor is a small cart Thursday-Sunday in a car wash parking lot that's just really tasty.

Bachi Burger Japanese inspired burger joints, 2 locations. Excellent milkshakes, recommend the chili fried chicken and stir fried edamame with garlic and chili.

Settebello my favorite pizza in town, in the District at Green Valley Ranch. Naples-style pizza. Favorites include bianca, settebello, carbonarra, 4 cheese add pancetta...basically the whole menu.

Custom Built Pizza a completely customizable personal pizza place at Flamingo and Grand Canyon, very tasty stuff and just below Settebello on my pizza rankings, but I eat it a lot as it's close to my house.

Egg Works my favorite local breakfast place, there's a few locations. I typically get a customized chicken enchilada omelet with a banana nut muffin, but again the menu is your oyster here.

Cracked Egg is a close analog to the Egg Works, if one of these is closer it'll do 90% of the work, with coffee cake instead of muffins.

Todd's Unique Dining is my favorite high-end quality meal at medium prices, it's at Sunset just east of Green Valley Parkway. Given it's summer, would recommend the watermelon salad as the must-have item.

Penn's Thai really tasty Thai at the end of the earth.

I think that's all for now, but fire away. I didn't cover downtown because I've ate there a total of like 2 times in 8 years. I could be doing it wrong.

Excellent recommendations all around, but I do have to say you should get over to Tacos El Gordo soon. Probably because I'm Canadian, though. Highly recommend Lengua and adobada.

Have you tried Honey Salt or Bread and Butter? I tried them on my last trip through town and enjoyed both, immensely.

I didn't address Honey Salt and the stuff at Tivoli village, which are both close to me. I've had bad times trying to get into Honey Salt before closing, but the one time I got in the food was good. Drinks looked amazing, been meaning to get there to do that.

I have not been to Bread and Butter, that looks pretty strong but pretty far away to go on a whim. Will check it out if I ever go to Henderson early enough.

Anssi A, are you still playing Modern at all? If so, do you still like that Junk deck or do you think Jund is a better option for midrange? Or even something else?

Add stinkweed imp and salvage somewhere. I've been testing different versions of dredgevine and I think it's the best performer in modern.

It's surprisingly not that difficult if you get a Tooth and Nail and you're playing what is basically five color green. The hardest part, really, is getting two big guys that are worth pulling up with T&N in the first place.

The last deck I went 8-4 in MMA was almost entirely green with Tooth and Nail, "splashing" Demigod of Revenge, Adarkar Valkyrie, Phthisis, and Etched Oracle. I was casting them all with little difficulty and had some pretty hilarious Tooth and Nail moments as well.

Kodama's Reach: No matter how good you think it is, it's probably better.

Kodama's Reach might just be the best card in Magic honestly.

So no core set duals in M14...

I'm guessing we'll get some sort of duals in Theros...

Yeah, Wizards already said that there will be a cycle in Theros but it won't be as "three-color-deck-friendly."

Where would you suggest putting those things? Grisly Salvage seems really good with Vengevine. This deck does look sweet, though unfortunately I do not have some of the expensive cards online (like Vengevines and the Planeswalkers) so I cannot really test it there. We have a Modern tournament here once a week so I'll throw it together live and test it some before I try to pick it up online. Thanks for the suggestion. It does look fun.

Hmm I wonder if Scavenging Ooze being introduced into Modern will make that deck worse. I presume Deathrite Shaman already hurts it some, and Ooze will quite possibly see some play while Melira Pod is still around.
