Who was it who said they had a friend that plays Unburial Gifts in modern? I am considering picking that deck up. Does that deck have any defense against Blood Moon short of Inquisition/Duress/Thoughtseize though? That kind of scares me.

My IRL friend plays it.

No to the Black/Green 4-color version. While it's a powerful deck and my friend has had local success, it's a very technically difficult deck to learn and at times feels underpowered.

The mana base is ridiculous and extremely unforgiving. If you're really curious, look up Shane McDurmott's Twitch archive for him testing it.

That said, the RWU version looks pretty powerful and may be a deck worth testing.

Yeah, that's the one I was talking about. Looks like it just folds to Blood Moon. I'll try to find that twitch, thanks. The RWU one doesn't really appeal to me very much. I watched Michael Hetrick's vid on CFB where he plays an 8 man or daily or whatever with it and it looked prety dull.

Floating mana to abrupt decay and there are 3-4 basics.

Did a RTR draft today to practice for block drafts, a draft second only to the Revelation/Rakdos Return/Firemind's Foresight +3 Electromancers draft I once did.

For those that are curious I've changed the deck a bit since the 2+2 tourney started. I cut Think Twice and Garruk, Primal Hunter for 2 Syncopate. I've also been experimenting with cutting either a Detention Sphere or a Restoration Angel for a third Supreme Verdict. Still looking for the right card to help in the Blitz and Aristocrats matchups, but not sure it exists in these colors.

Green geist assuming you can reconfigure to handle double green is probably the ideal for Blitz. The rarely played Sensory Deprivation (Aura, creature gets -3/-0) is probably worth testing if that's been a big problem. Pacifism probably works well too (better against Medic). Not sure about Aristocrats, probably just Terminus as they aren't as fast and targeting doesn't work well.

I have played Strangleroot Geist. He is too hard on the mana and is more like a 3 drop. I brainstormed a bith with Trikkur, Roothlus, and Cueball Mania and came up with Blind Obedience, Feeling of Dread, Righteous Blow, a fourth Azorius Charm, Dramatic Rescue, and even Silent Departure (although I was the only one who liked that). I might also put a Terminus instead of my third Supreme Verdict, since the miracle aspect is nice and it has a slightly different effect to defeat Boros Charm and Aristocrats.

Garruk Relentless is solid against Blitz and great against just about everything else. Centaur Healer is also good, but pretty mediocre against everything else and you already have Smiter which is basically the same (though you get to draw one more with Zegana). What about Cyclonic Rift for Aristocrats? You could bounce all of their souls tokens as well as bounce Blood Artist before you wrath.

I tried Blind Obedience in my Junk board for the Blitz matchup btw and did not like it. It's only mediocre there and bad against everything else. It's just really not very good IMO. The effect is too weak. It might be decent against BR Zombies of last season since they rely heavily on haste.

I think Obedience is much better in Bant/Esper than it is Junk. Wrath effects make it stronger.
