Hope I got the Packs/Picks good:
P1P2 ; The choice is between Shaman & Healer both being uncs. I think Shaman is really situational while Healer is mostly reasonable. I also like UW fliers

P1P3 ; Yeva Forcemage is not really good without synergy. I would take either Diviniation (Card adv.) or Show of Valor (Trick). I think Divination is relatively better in a midrangey deck

P1P4 ; Tough.. So far you have no exalted creatures so I am favouring Faerie Invaders though Benedict is uncommon & most exalted in B/W are commons. Still think Faerie is a good choice

P1P5: Falcon forces you to put more white cards in there. Show of valor is fine as well as entrancer. Still think I would go with a creature over the trick as the Trick can wheels at least twice.

P1P6: Nothing playable except Rats, Ring & Hulk. Hulk wheels more often so I take the blue ring

P1P7: Seems green is open so you can go towards UG. Arbor Elf is a solid pick up here

P1P8: I'm fine taking the Green wolf here over the white 2/2 wolf. note that rummaging goblin is still in there ...
& P1P12 or something with Kindled Fury..

P2 start; you can technically still play GW because you have no synergy with Talrand at this moment
That said Sentinel Spider is for me better than the Knight in G/W
Encrust is situational, another Faeri increases your curve

P2P3 I take the Knight and start using the Manacurve button to see what you need to fill up. Rain of blades might wheel

P2P4 #Lol #Odric #wtf

P2P6 Ring or Griffin Protector, I would take the White ring.

P2P7 Double WW is pretty hard if you play 10/7 or 9/8. But I also like filling up your 4 mana slots more since u can hide the blue cards

P2P9 or 8, Bond beetle is meh but still the best pick in case u pick up Raging Primadox

P3P1 looks like AVR but Farseek is the only thing u can take as nothing else is worth splashing except Public Execution but u have no fixing..
Fortres might wheel

P3P2 Chronomaton is really good. U already have a lot of 2 drops so it is either the Ox to fill up your 4 slot, Chronomaton or Kitesail. Chronomaton does not dissapoint as it needs an answer fast esp with your vigilance ring
Deadly recluse is far inferior to your other 2 drops I think

P3P3 Big 5/6 guy or the defender is what I would go for. Once again 2 drops is not what you are looking for since u want to fill up your other mana curve

P3P4 U can consider splashing for Switcheroo. I think you have enough creatures u want to trade ''away'' so I go bant colours, nice

P3P5 Fungal sprouting does not do much but still can fill up your curve than the 2/2 dork

P3P7 I would take the 7/7 wurm over the temporary pump eagle, more power late game is appreciated

P3P9 I would watch the draft again to see if you got a big signal in Pack 1 that Red is superopen along with White

Hope it helps & If you disagree, please tell me so we can discuss

An M13 draft. Still a beginner. Would love some input on the picks and the deck.
I recommend using www.raredraft.com for draft reviews. It uses the draft record from MTGO and offers a visual interface. It's nice. I can't offer much commentary on the draft though, since I've only played one M13 event.

Just had the fun experience of: all my other internet windows work fine, no issues in any way with the internet, then with two minutes left on our clocks and my opponent about to die (I was at 20, he had 2 cards left in library and not enough permanents in play to do enough damage), and he suddenly times down.

I realize when he hits zero and nothing has happened that I've been disconnected from the MTGO server. I log back in to discover I've lost round 1 of a swiss tournament AND been dropped, so I can't even finish the other three rounds for packs.

Online support sent me a link to fill out a reimbursement form, hopefully they do the right thing.

In other news I'm wondering if Sublime Archangel might be a real contender in standard. She's a 5/4 flying for 2WW on her own, and turns a mediocre starting hand into a turn 5 or 6 kill.

Makes me wonder if white aggro is viable with her at the top of the curve. Turn 2 Knight of Glory, Turn 3 Lingering Souls, Turn 4 Sublime Archangel, Turn 5 flashback Lingering Souls is a turn 5 kill unanswered - if they go with whipflare you'll keep the angel, if they go with spot removal you'll still have a huge pile of flying tokens.

I have been thinking the same thing, and have been trying to pick some paper ones up cheaply since she has not really been used yet (though most people just see the $20 price tag on SCG and CFB and won't trade her for less than that ). I think she could fit nicely into a GW aggro shell. Something like: turn 1 Avacyn Pilgrim, turn 2 Silverblade Paladin, turn 3 Sublime Archangel pair swing with Paladin for 10. I have also been considering Mayor of Avabruck in such a deck while running things like Midnight Haunting (which would also be good with Angel), Wolfir Avenger, and Restoration Angel for easy flips. Gavony Township works well with him too. Wolfir Silverheart would be a beast with Silverblade Paladin. I really want to try some of this stuff out, I have just been chicken to get all of the cards before Return to Ravnica gets spoiled since the rotation is so soon.

Yeah, re: rotation I'm kind of in that same spot. I've been doing a ton of m13 sealed release events as sealed is a format I like (normally I like draft too, but m13 draft seems brutally fast and refined) and it's basically self perpetuating for me. (Plus after the 15th it'll go to the "regular" 4 pack sealed I think, which I'm not nearly as good at.)

Not sure what to draft or do next in that regard - a lot of MTGO bots have a "buy for nothing, sell for high" policy it seems, so I'm worried about getting totally ripped off if I just throw down the tickets for a deck, especially since I've been out of constructed for so long - the chances I pay tickets, build a deck, then find out it sucks and have to scrap it is reasonably high.

So for now I'm just playing sealed to my hearts content, keeping the "stock rares" like the M13 duals and other cards I know will get heavy use, and selling the rest to stockpile tickets.

Trying to decide what to play after the release event is over or I get sick of M13 - Innistrad for the enemy colored duals, maybe?

lol $20 , people rate it here as a 30euro card so Price Memory is at your advantage guys

If post-rotation Tokens is going to be a viable strategy I think I brew something with Sorin or Esper with Drogskol Captain, Moorland Haunt, Snapcaster & Favourable Wins (= Basically honor of the pure)

Since Tokens can keep its 8 Crusade effects, don't think you want to attack with just 1.

G/W aggro on the other hand with the Archangel, Ajana DoubleStrike_Flying_WTF & Sigarda, that's a beating

According to MJ, Daily Events have the highest EV

U/B is probably a favorite vs. U/R Post, Mono B, Storm...Evenish to WW...dog to a lot of the resilient aggro decks.

I've played all of one 2 man with Infect and I think it has a bit more play then on face value...but at times you are really cold to a T1 kill spell. I like the probe versions. Don't know much about the matchups yet. I played vs. a WW player who boarded into a milli kill spells all on 2/3...and lost to T1 glistener elf untap with vines.

I enjoy the U/B deck more for sure...but i've just been 2-2 the dailies too much. Might need to try the trinket mage/lifestaff versions. It feels too good to evoke a mulldrifter with grim harvest in the yard.

Thanks guys for the analysis.

I see that there is a invitation only release draft 19 august. How can you get in ? Do you need an amount of QP's ? Pretty new to this, just wondering. The top8 payout is pretty sweet.

My magic online account was suspended for 30 days recently and all they will tell me is that I was in repeated violation of Rule 9 which says this:

Quote:
9. Do not attempt to artificially alter the outcome of a league, sanctioned event, or organized game. For example:

Bribe or offer compensation in order to change the game outcome
Stall, spam, harass, or behave in any unsportsmanlike manner that affects the game
Is it against the rules to split in the finals of a draft queue? That's the only thing I can think of that I did that could have possibly broke this rule. I definitely didn't bribe or harrass anyone.

They just straight suspended me for 30 days, no warning or anything. They won't even tell me exactly what I did to break the rule. It has been incredibly frustrating dealing with them and now they won't even respond to my emails.

Does anybody know someone at WOTC that could possibly help with this?

I spent a lot of time, effort and money getting enough QPs to qualify for the season championship and then spent quite a bit more building a legacy deck. It is so ridiculous that they are preventing me from playing in it and they won't even give me an explanation.

I'm pretty sure it's against the rules to split...especially if you do something like encourage your opponent to give you the QP or die roll for the QP.

I always thought this was funny because grinders like watchwolf encourage you doing this in his articles.

Your basically that olympic badminton team to them.

To be fair, that is worthy of a suspension after repeated offenses.

Probably deserves a warning first though and it's definitely their own fault for setting up the match timer/timing out the way they have.

Do they always just go straight to the suspension and never issue warnings?
