I think lost in mists is a perfect card. It's very rare that you want 2 of them. If you're playing blue, and you have a chance to pick up LoM, I would. The format is very tempo based and it's very easy for you to be ahead on the board when you're blue/x and you counter their spell and bounce their guy and it's such a huge back breaker. Especially when you can also have silent departure and grasp of phantoms in the same deck.

Also, it costing 5 is perfect. Obviously it will nearly never see play in constructed, it's fine in limited and it costing 4 would be too good.

Although if it did cost 4, it'd see play in constructed... but do we really want another control deck taking the format over?

Have you tried playing Swiss? I used to never play MTGO cause single elimination drafts when you aren't very good at magic is very expensive and not a lot of fun. The whole reason I came back to MTGO was cause playing Swiss made it worthwhile.

Does anyone know how to drag the graveyard out into it's own window to expand it? I see it done in videos but for some reason can't figure out how to do it myself.

Double-click on the graveyard icon next to hand and deck size.

Does anybody know why Doom Blade is currently preferred over Go for the Throat? With Tempered Steel so unpopular atm, the only artifact creatures seeing play that I can really think of are Inkmoth Nexus, Wurmcoil Engine, Solemn Simulacrum, and maybe Blade Splicer and I suppose Spellskite (though you'll probably prefer Go for the Throat over Doom Blade if your opponent has a Spellskite in play anyway). Granted Doom Blade is excellent against Inkmoth Nexus, it doesn't really work very well against Wurmcoil, and Doom Blading a Solemn is pretty meh. On the other hand, for black we have Grave Titan, Rune Scarred Demon, Phantasmal Images copying our black creatures since we're playing black, and all of the critters in mono black infect. Might Go for the Throat be better than Doom Blade right now?

If you think the metagame's shifting, then switch, or run a mix of both. I see a lot of UW Humans with Blade Splicers and other various random nonsense, where Doom Blade seems a bit more versatile.

Being able to kill Inkmoth Nexus is probably the biggest reason, since having no outs to that stupid thing is pretty miserable against Wolf Run. Wring Flesh is a nice one, but postboard when you have to fight through Spellskite, I'd much rather have the Doom Blade so I can kill the Spellskite, then flash back the Doom Blade with Snapcaster Mage.

Wring Flesh is a nice answer to Phantasmal Image, of course.

Haha, they're getting rid of the pro players club.

Pros were mad with Planeswalker points, theyll be furious now.

Wouldn't surprise me at all. FNM is 3x multiplier and GPs are 8x. You have to factor in that its way easier to stomp your way through a FNM though.

Is this a joke?

Didn't forsythe or someone respond to the article LSV et al wrote saying they would make the system better?

This makes it so much worse. They cut yet another pro tour and offer further incentive for people to play every event possible.

I mean the article says multiple times they'll have something similar up for 2013, but who knows what they mean by similar

Guys,

Only pro points count for the world championships.

So FNM doesn't matter. If the top tier pros step up and play a ton of GPs they will be the ones making it to worlds.

The system isn't nearly as bad when there is a limited number of events(as there are for "pro" planeswalker points). Its still bad and I think its stupid the people doing the best on the pro tour likely won't qualify for the worlds invitational unless they also play every GP possible.

Despite what wizards is saying they've made multiple decisions that prove they want volume to matter and don't plan on rewarding good performances.
