Twice. I've done it once before. Also got it off on turn 4-5 like 3 times. Without induce/vandetta they were screwed.

It is shockingly easy to cast hand. At first I thought it was a terrible card and the crusher is obv better for most decks but getting massive amounts of tokens is so easy.

Saw a guy somehow go 1-2 with double Ajani Goldmane and Grave Titan. -_-
awesome on the ajani/titan fail

I went 3-1 with a meh GWb deck, losing to R/W where he act of treason + fling my 4/4 slime guy, yeah that's a kick in the balls, then in game 3 he played angelic arbiter to stall me out, and then fireballed me

to get it even in the same stratosphere as crusher means you have to run meh cards like brood birthing, and anytime you live the dream you could just cast crusher the next turn anyway, and the big % you don't live the dream the crusher is miles better

Does magic online have pauper leagues or anything? I'm interested in getting into MTGO again but dont feel like spending a lot of money. Would like to draft but I hate the sudden death format of MTGO, I'd like to actually get some play time if im going to spend $15

Well there are player run pauper events fairly regularly. Some have small prizes. There's also a weekly pauper challange tournament which costs 6 tix to enter (MTGO sanctioned, etc).

As far as drafting, not sure the last time that you played. There's now swiss drafts which allow you to play 3 rounds. You get a pack for each match win. Helps defer some of the costs a little bit. With selling cards, you can play for relatively cheap if you open and play well.

so you can win 3 packs at most? and if you lose your first two matches but win the last you still get a pack? What are the payout regularly, still 8-4 or something?

eh not a big fan of rgd believe it or not. everyone jizzes over it but i didn't play during that time so i'm a huge underdog.

mmd or mdf on the other hand, hoo boy. strongly prefer mmd but obv no one drafts that. screw fifth dawn. iip also was very good.

rgd is the pinnacle of "take all the good stuff 5 color suprise!!!!" drafting. and since I'd run a 6th color if they let me, I tend to take well to it.

IIP > IPA > everything else

I also really loved OLS, but I may be the only one.

IIP is better than everything, I agree. But I think IPA might be worse than everything besides Masques block. Apocalypse ruined the sets.

OLS is alright I guess but I despise the morph mechanic. It's a little better now under M10 rules.

Yeah I get my fill of those in cube draft. But people are vicious, there's lot of anti-karoos in our cube (Flickerwisp particularly is the nuts).

Tim Aten wrote an article where he described an RGD draft that he picked lands at every opportunity and had like 12 bounce lands and 4 basic lands at the end with basically no cards to play. It was a joke pointed a Eisel who would write draft recaps about the times he picked bouncelands early and got gifted win conditions, leaving out the times that strat fails.

Forcing WBR in RGD draft is actually the best strat. It's so fast at beating down and nobody puts up a defense in that format. Steeling Stance is an all star that you pick up at pick 10-15 regularly.

Ah yes, "the challenge." It's a fun exercise: You must take a land if there is one in the pack. There's a lot of awesome decklists that have come about as a result.

I would def play green over white, gives you more options in case your wall strat somehow doesn't work. 2 gnarlids, a better wall, wurm, and umbras are much better than your white cards. also the snake umbra works with vent sentinel which is nice
