testing vs yourself seems like a bad idea as its like if everyone has an Urza's glasses on the table.

Knowing when you can/can not commit is something you shouldn't have perfect information

I agree especially if you play vs control or play control yourself but also in other scenarios

You can still be reasonably fair with making assumptions on what you'd do etc though in fact when I tested during Mirrodin I even gave villain good to average starting hands on purpose and played his deck as perfectly as possible to test against "worst case" (i.e. he'd always guess right about my own mystery holdings)

The more I think about it the more I want to set up specific starting hand matchups i.e. good draw vs average draw, average draw vs average draw etc.

Alos I'd really love some info on mulligan strategy, generally I just try to
- have reasonable land
- curve out ok
But I'm not sure if I should take a second mulligan a lot of the time etc (especially if the deck contains some carddraw etc)

You both have an incorrect assumption: that you already know the perfect play in each situation vs these decks. And the reality is that you don't; no one does when they first sit down to test. Later in testing, sure, move towards a more "real" approach. But if you can't see both sides of the match-up, there's a very real chance you don't ever figure out what the perfect play is.

Normally I hate 3 colour but P2P1 Garruk quickly changed my planned BU deck...
Won the 8-4 despite playing a tough finals against a BR deck with a pyromancer and a rod of ruin out on a stable board.
If you were wondering yes he is foil ^_^

Anyone interested in brainstorming for season 3?
I think I may try to get the 15 points that you need to qualify, format of the CC Event is Zen Block constructed.

How hard is it to get 15 points, how many events etc. do you have to play? I guess I'll need to build an Extended deck to have more choices...opinions on what's good there (haven't done any googling yet)?

extended seems to be heavy darkdepths/thopter, zoo and faeries

faeries probably isn't too expensive, the other 2 aren't cheap

Cool thx.

Played against a Scourglass+Vaults+Affinity deck in Standard today, looks like a pretty nifty little deck (untill it gets pretty much raped by Pithing Needle that I never drew)

Want to buy 20 tickets for 20 Stars or FT. You send first unless you are very reputable.

Some artifact creatures in the last few sets have a color. If it has a white mana in the casting cost it is white, otherwise it is non-white. For example, Juggernaut is non-white, Arsenal Thrasher is white (and blue, and black).

Same thing applies to every card in the game unless the card has text saying otherwise. For example, Kobolds of Kher Keep specifically says that it is red, although there is no red mana symbol in the casting cost.

An esper/vaults deck is in the san deigo top 8 right now. Looks pretty slick.

there is a link to all the top 8 deck lists.

I can't wait til they go ahead and release worldwake on MTGO so I can put this thing together and see how it fares.

that Naya deck dominated LSV went 11-1, Tom Ross was 9-1

UW control and Bant both had pretty strong results too

the Jund players got there on the strength of their draft results(it seemed to do ok but nothing special)

well u realize lsv and tomm ross prolly play a lil bit better than ur average joe at a PT right?

and the information fish will get from this event is jund got 1st and 2nd, so they gonna play that.

im happy LSV didnt win, just because of the hype and the talk about how insanely good he really is bla bla. i think theres a group of players who are alot better than the rest but within that group they are all pretty much at the same lvl.
