Ancient Grudge is super good if you play vs. Tezzeret or Affinity. Also useful vs. burn. Still, 3 is probably enough. I want to fit Primal Command and possible a Terror-like spell in there to slow down zoo.

I also like Thought Hemmorage just fine. Never sided it in, but I never played against Scapeshift or control in general.

hey y'all. i'd like to get rid of my rares/promos/good t2 cards for tix. mostly casual stuff, nothing too exciting. i also wouldn't mind picking up like 20 tix for stars money. pm me or msg me on mtgo. screen name is "PinkRoses."

There's close to zero Affinity at live PTQs in the Northeast, leaving Grudge as just 4 O.K. cards against Tezzeret. No, ty.

I'm not getting why you want cards for Zoo? I was just rolling over it with ease playing the maindeck in game 2s. Are you talking about big Zoo?

Thought Hemmorhage is still a garbage card against control decks IMO, meaning its only application is vs. regular Scapeshift, which is admittedly a pretty bad matchup. But I just don't know that a 4-mana sorcery is good enough vs. a deck with Remands and Negates post-sideboard.

This.

Jund just replaces Terminate with Smother and goes back to a version that ups the Leech, Pulse and Master count. Not that I condone playing Jund.

The card is obv good but it's not the Jund killer I've seen ppl make it out to be on other forums. I'd still rather have my Wall of Denial vs Jund since it does a better job.

Preview Week!

This card is very cool, although probably not that good. Still cool concept.

It will be pretty awesome in limited, at least. I assume that "as steps and phases end" means the mana stays around from turn to turn, right? Pretty interesting mechanic.

I'm sure that you could make some fun timmy-plays with this in a constructedl. Play it on turn 3, pump it turn 4 and 5 and then drop a 7-9cc spell with the mana.

It won't stay around through multiple turns. It will only stay around through the steps and phases in a turn, so, for example, you could tap all of your forests during the declare blockers step, so that the thing is pumped for combat, and then use the mana during your second main phase. It seems to be just a worse timbermaw larva because it will require you to tap down all of your green mana every turn (which makes it hard to hide battletricks if you want to use one on your opponents turn after you attacked on yours), although you will be able to use it on defense if you want.

Yeah I think it won't go past turns but if it does:

Fragile but entertaining way to win would be building him up to collect enough mana by turn 4 so that you can tap enough for a winning Banefire turn 5:

Forrest, Llanowar Elves, go
Forrest, Archdruid, go
Forrest, Two Elves (who combined need to be able to make one mana), cast this guy with the Archdruid mana (2/2; one mana in pool)
Forrest, 4+1+1(or more)+4 into the pool (11+)
Mountain, Tap the rest, Banefire

If you can get a Ruin Ghost and a Tideforce Elemental both active you will be able to do some pretty silly things. Possibly a new block constructed combo deck. Although keeping two one toughness creatures alive long enough to overcome summoning sickness is pretty hard.

Elfball list with the new Warcaller:
----
14 Forrest
8 Mountain

4 Lightning Bolt
4 Banefire

4 Llanowa Elves
x 4 Joraga Warcaller
4 Elvish Visionary
4 Druid of the Anima
4 Elvish Archdruid
4 Greenweaver Druid
2 Keeper of Progenitus

4 Sarkhan Vol
----

Thoughts? Could also put in Jund Panoramas or something haven't looked at the lands carefully enough
I guess mono green with overrun or something would also work.

Not sure about the keeper since it benefits other decks too much and negates your mana advantage, might be a good sideboard card vs mono black Vampires etc

1) Turn 3 Sarkhan Vol is kinda nasty
2) Lots of mana for random Banefires can win if you get through some early demage
3) Warcaller with a bunch of mana is wicked

what do you want to do with the deck? vol/banefire seem unsynergistic; as if they let you untap you win, and having 8x win cons in a deck is meh.

I think it would play like a strange weenie deck that only attacks every now and then when the situation is right but for the most part relies on the dragons and/or banefires to win (with mana making elves using their tap to make mana).
I think the curve is decent to have all kinds of interesting turn 1-3s

Might try the new XRR multikicker Fireball instead of the Banefires since it's an instant (for R more) which would give us more flexibility

It definitely stays around through multiple turns. The article previewing it on MTG spells it out directly (don't have the link handy).

Well this guy is a Mythic rare so it won't show up very often, at least. The 4/5 will be around.

I kinda like the new white soldier, he's 0/1 for (W), gets +1/+1 each time an ally comes into play.

The wording seems very odd for this. Even compare it to upwelling which the same article points to. Upwelling says "mana pools don't empty at the end of phases and turns." On the other hand Omnath says "Green mana does not empty from your mana pool as steps and phases end."
People in the card design department should try to and generally try to at least harmonize the language. How the spoiled Omnath reads on the actual card does not seem to agree with how the article (or really its rarity power) indicate it should work.

I guess the comprehensive rules do say "500.4. When a step or phase ends, any unused mana left in a player's mana pool empties. This turn-based action doesn't use the stack," and mana pools don't empty at the end of turns. I still think this is pretty bad wording on this card though.

I think this is good wording and Upwelling is the incorrect one, but still your point stands.

So I've become completely addicted to MTGO. If anyone has Malakir Bloodwitches, Bloodghasts, Vampire Nocturnuses, or Swamp fetchlands that you're willing to sell, PM me.

Also, when does the next set come out?

Yeah I'm looking for 1-4 Sarkhan Vol's and/or 50-100 tix for FTP money. Gotta test that stuff first.
The Evil Polka Man: I want to test my crappy deck vs the Vampire deck you're building once you're done (a bunch of matches to get more real results) so hit me up on MTGO when you're done
