There's an even more recent update from their blog here.

The last I've heard (about a week ago now) on leagues, is that they require 12 weeks of non-stabilization interrupted dedicated code work, not including QA time. We're shooting for a July beta on leagues with a late August release timeframe (i.e., in time for Eventide). Please note, what I just said is HIGHLY FLUID and may need to change in the coming months, but that it what is planned for *right now*.

Honestly, lol. Thanks for the additional info. I'm about 80/20 for quitting right now. I enjoy the game, but I have a real problem with companies that don't give a **** about their customers.

When you hire the bottom of the barrel for devs, you just don't give a ****. I guess the state of the old client/stability of the servers (mtgo has been out how long? lol) should have been a clue as just how stupid and/or uncaring these people are but sometimes I just don't learn so good.

Obligatory lame poker joke: cmon aces, one time!

Sorry I stopped doing the draft thing, but interest definitely dropped off after it went offline (for myself and others).

While taking a break from poker, I remembered about a casual deck that I had when I started playing Magic Online a long time ago. I rebuilt it today as best as I could remember and it looks like this.

12 Forest
12 Island
4 Wild Growth
4 Fertile Ground
2 Compulsion
4 Enchantress' Presence
1 Words of Wilding
4 Yavimaya Enchantress
2 Think Tank
1 Web of Inertia
3 Words of Wind
3 Verduran Enchantress
4 Annex
4 Confiscate

So basically, play a bunch of enchantments and draw cards and win with either a words of wind combo which pretty much goes off if I have 3 Fertile Grounds/Wild Growths down (basically make opponent pick up his board in a turn or two), or win with Yavimaya Enchantress (gets +1/+1 for each enchantment in play), or confiscate an opponent's bomb. Basically i get huge tempo with the fertile grounds/wild growths, but annex and confiscate stealing opponent's land = huge tempo shift. It can't beat the best decks, but it's not a bad deck.

Basically, I'm just wondering if there are any other cards I should look at adding into this deck that might be in sets that I haven't seen (anything between 5th dawn and 10th edition).

EDIT: With a focus on being cheap, but naming some sweet rare cards would be fine too.

Please stop bumping this thread. I had my entire Magic collection stolen a few years ago including Unlimited set (x2 signed lotus), Arabian Nights set, etc... 10,000+ cards total. I completely stopped playing and every time I see this thread it life tilts me. Seriously...

I actually Beta tested MTGO for about 6 months and then played it when it went live for 6 months or so. You think there is any chance my cards/account even still exists from 6 years ago? I had a ton of Invasion cards.

Probably, and you could probably get some decent salvage value depending on just how many/which cards you have.

Didnt realise there was such a following for magic in poker!

Anybody interested in buying a mtg account? Never use it much anymore its just going to waste.

Actually does anyone know how you could go about selling these accounts? like can i trade the cards/tics i have to people when trading for nothing in return?

3-1 with a Naya deck splashing for 3 Executioner's Capsules. Lost in the finals to some guy with two Rhox War Monk, Rafiq the Many, Stoic Angel, etc, etc.

Cube drafted later and went 1-2 with a pretty good wizards deck.

Is the online playable now? I quit after they 'upgraded' the software and ended up with like 10% of the functionality they had in the older version. Are there leagues, and layouts that don't make your eyes bleed?

I haven't live-drafted in 5-6 years but my most vivid memories are of catching the little kids slipping bombs into their decks. This one young mouthbreather had the audacity to put 3 Call of the Herds into his deck. He almost got away with it until, unfortunately for him, he drew all 3 and somebody Peek'd him. Shoulda mulliganed. He was M:tG's version of Worm.

I didn't draft a ton but I never caught anyone slipping **** into their decks. This makes me wonder how often i got owned by some crooked 12 year old .

I did the same like two weeks ago. Clearly a bad decision. But it is fun.

Post your list?

If Im drafting with total scrubs my favorite archetype is 5 color deliciousness. Basically you pick the best card in the pack, pick trilands pretty highly (1-4th pick), then you can get obelisks and panormas 6th-10th. It sets you up to take advantage of peoples gross misevaluations because you can pick anything (branching bolt 5th, exec caps 6th-7th, trilands 10th, etc).
