Got quite a few more hours in BG3 now and it just keeps getting better and better.

Still no bugs and my only issue now (except for having to restart to fix occasional stuttering) is that I cannot resist save scumming to make those dice rolls.

I'm weak and the game lets me get away with it.

Bought BG3 on a whim an hour after it launched and have 50 hours in it now. No bugs so far. Only save scummed once. Currently in Act 2.

I'm doing an evil playthrough as a Drow Thief. Its basically playing the game on easy mode since I'm Dex/Cha which seems to be the most important as far as rolls go (most frequent anyway). I have like +14-17 on Dex rolls and +8-11 on Cha rolls (with Guidance). Plus as a Drow I get the [DROW] dialogue options to basically pass all the evil goblins/dwarves checks without a dice roll.

Also waited on BG3 until now. It's probably my favourite game ever, with Deus Ex, and the reason I really only play RPGs (we'll skim over the deep phycological issues...).
Looking at it, seems this this thread should be renamed the 'Durlag's Tower's survivor group'!

It doesn't seem like El Kabong posts here anymore, but Moving Out 2 is out now.

I would encourage anyone who has the slightest interest in fighting games to try SF6. I told myself after SF5 and MK11 that I would never buy a fighting game again because they are just too damn complicated. These games claim to be accessible, but I would still nearly injure myself learning to play a single character.

Modern Controls however are a game changer. They make it so easy to try out characters, which is a lot of fun, because they eliminate that initial execution barrier. You can still do complex combos, but they are much easier to perform.

SF6 ON THE LIST! Maybe it drops a little in the next Steam sale and that'll be a good time to pick it up.

Black Book free on Epic, a really cool deckbuilding RPG (not a roguelike), where you play as a novice witch in 19th century Russian countryside. Great fun, although the pacing of the story is a little bit off, so it does get a bit stale after a while

Anyone else on BG3? I'm loving it, although my alt-icoholism is starting to kick in, and I'm not even through Act 1 yet, but want to reroll a new party and run two consecutive playthroughs.

Given how huge I know the game is, good chance never even get out of Act 1...

I'm afraid it will melt my gaming laptop

Funny you should say that. I'm only able to play it because my cousin kindly gave me an old custom-built laptop of his. He's a high end programmer, so has a bunch, and this was clearly built for some specific job and has weird specs (older laptop with 64GB Ram), so it can run stuff, but gets super hot. Good, I guess, as it means I'm taking breaks every half hour before it melts it's heat matt.

He also broke the keyboard and bought a new one. Didn't pay much attention and got a Bulgarian one, so about a quarter of the keys are either muddled or letters I've never seen before, which can make things interesting.

I was playing BG3 until a couple of hours ago. Then my computer suddenly switched off and now it won't start

The motherboard has lights, but nothing happens when I press the power button, so guessing it's the PSU or Motherboard that needs replacing - nothing I can do until Monday (at the earliest), so that's a wasted weekend of BG3-playing

Ouch. Does BG3 back up games to the cloud?

Yes, I've got cloud saves on so shouldn't have lost much - I had just gotten a really sweet roll just as my computer shut down though

Also thinking (hoping) the hdds are fine, so hopefully I won't have lost anything there either.

BG3 is on again

After trying an old PSU without that helping, I tried replacing my GPU with an old one, and the pc started right up and working perfectly.

Nothing lost in BG3 either and it runs pretty good on my trusty old 1080 TI so it'll do fine until I get the new GPU replaced - it's still under warranty so shouldn't cost me anything.

About 20 minutes into Sea of Stars and I'm already in love. The aesthetics and score are top notch so far.

I also really appreciate that you can lower the volume of the "dialogue bloops"

Whelp another one to add to the list that I might finally get round to playing in the next 5-10 years!

Almost a tad relieved that Starfield, out next week, has zero chance of coming near my machine without setting fire to everything...

being a huge fan of the first game, I got Blasphemous 2 and the game just feels... weird. There a lot of small changes that wouln't make much of a difference separately, but they add up to a very different experience. The overall all tone is much less opressive (which makes sense in the context of first game's ending), level design is less mazelike, but with more ability gates, combat and movement feel different etc. Don't get me wrong, the game is still solid, but it's just a much bigger departure from the original than I expected

Picked up Slay the Spire a few weeks ago to see what all the fuss was about. For the longest time I'd heard people talk about it but I thought, how good could it really be?

I'm now 80+ hours into it and it occupies nearly all of my free time. I may need a support group.

after being disappointed with Dead Cells and Hades which on paper should be games that I love I tried out one day Slay the Spire and I loved it. Mind you - I don't like card games - so there's that. I only have 35 hours though, maybe I should revisit.

I'm not even sure what makes StS so addictive. Normally I'd get bored with a game after so many hours, but StS seems to have infinite replay value. I guess because the mix of different characters, increasingly difficult ascension levels and randomized card and other rewards that make every game uniquely challenging. It's more of a game to be continuously entertained by than "solved". Also it plays great on the Steam Deck.

That said I should probably take a break from it and give the other neglected games in my library some love.
