ok, so not an easy mode per se, but str builds are still much easier than anything else - if you're looking for more challenge and to understand the game mechanics better, I'd start a new playthrough with dex. My dex/faith (wisdom in s&s) was also extremely fun, but you kinda need to look up weapons for that build, since there are 3 weapons total in the game with that scaling (one scythe, one dagger and one gun).

btw I'm looking to spend my epic coupon together combined with their sale, I am torn between 2 card games: Black Book and Roguebook, has anyone played either of those?

I re-installed DSP again and played it a fair bit recently, but while I like the game a lot, what it mostly did, was make me want to play Factorio again, so that's mainly what I've been doing the past weeks

The one thing I have a bit of an issue with for DSP is how building stuff gets so affected by the gridlines of a spherical planet.

As for Factorio, I tone down biters a lot when setting up a game - I don't turn them off completely, but I turn off expansion and evolution so they'll be a factor, but not impact the game too much.

As long as I keep the radars going and keep track of pollution I can do biter-control without it affecting the building and planning. It gives me the choice of when I do different things in the game - I'll go raiding biter-nests when I want to and build when I want to.

Picked up shapez.io since you can never have too many automation games.

It is really good and 50% off for a few more days.

It's like a mix of Total War and Factorio - also has really good music and a very chill vibe. Perfect for a lazy sunday.

To be fair, it is a game it pays to leave running in the background as resources pour in and stuff unlocks, so they're not all active hours, but still spent way more time with this the past week than I would've thought. It is very addictive.

if you're talking about wrath of the righteous it's the GOAT Pathfinder game so far

It's also oppressively long imo, just the bare main campaign is 50hrs+

I like to explore and do side quests, try different builds etc., I think I'm at around 80-90 hours and not even half way through

Was reading that it has the most comprehensive character creation's going, which means I can probably spend 50+ hours in there without ever playing the game...

One of the twitch streamers I follow did a full play through and looking at his play list on youtube it is 387 episodes so it is at least 170 hours.

Oh wow. Definitely not ready for that time commitment yet although I really want to.

I felt like Kingmaker had a lot of problems when it first came out which were drastically improved later on. Is that the case for Wrath?

Children of Morta is free on steam for the next 3 days. I played it a bit but it feels like every other roguelike with perma-progression that's been released in the last 10 years. The story is about this family that you get to interact with in between dungeon runs but I didn't find it interesting either.

Dear Esther is also free on Steam for a few days.

Thanks for both. Looks like Children of Morta is just a free trial while Dear Esther is free to keep.

I played Dear Esther last year and was completely underwhelmed by it.

Spoiler:
Felt like whatever was supposed to happen never did. At least Gone Home had a quasi payoff. There was nothing with Dear Esther.

Dear Esther is like the OG walking simulator. I think it was one of my very first purchases on steam.

So yeah, if you’ve played anything else in the genre, Esther isn’t going to wow you.

Vampire Survivors is a unique and fun take on the "roguelike with perma-progression" genre. It's a gothic horror (think Castlevania) themed bullet hell shooter where you have to survive against endless waves of monsters while upgrading your weapons and abilities. All you do is move around as all your weapons and abilities are automatically used.

The itch.io version is free https://poncle.itch.io/vampire-survivors and development has moved onto the paid steam version which has more features, characters, weapons, stages, etc.

The paid version on Steam is only $3 yes 3 whole dollars. Best value of any game out there

Was intrigued, so watched the first one. Like the game, it's quirky, looks good, but really isn't my kind of thing...

Dammit, all I'm seeing everywhere on twitch/youtube is Lost Ark or Elden Ring, two games I'm dying to play but crappy internet and potato pc won't let me.

Luckily can just about manage Vampire Survivors!
