Really enjoying Griftlands a new deck building Roguelike game By Klei.

It has a lot of similarity to Slay the Spire, but it's different enough that it's well worth playing in addition to StS.

The biggest difference between the 2 is that in Griftlands you are building 2 different decks simultaneously. missions can be resolved using either combat or negotiation, each of which has separate decks. You can also recruit allies or pets to help you in battles.

One thing I really like about the game play so far is the card upgrade system. Each time you play a card, it gains points towards being upgraded. so after you play a card roughly 5 or 6 times it can be upgraded between battles, and there are choices in how to upgrade a card. For example you can choose to upgrade a modest boost in damage, or choose a more significant damage boost but the card is removed from the deck for the rest of the battle after being played. Cards can also be upgraded several times


Your actions also have consequences. As you complete missions people will begin to either like or dislike you which can result in positive or negative effects such as getting plus 1 on attack cards or -1 on defense cards. These effects are permanent unless you kill the person who dislikes you removing their negative penalties.

Has anyone played Total War? Looks like there's 2 different versions War Hammer and 3 Kingdoms with one being on sale. Would you recommend either one?

I don't know anyone that plays Total War.

I just got into Warhammer TW and its incredible.

The difference you will get with WH over 3k is incredible diversity within each faction. They are different species after all.

They all come with their own flavour, goals, units, buildings and unique gameplay elements etc.

Very deep game that will provide hours and hours of playtime, I am 30 hours in and that is just with one faction and have several hours left in that campaign. I could play just that faction several times.

Total war WH 1 is meh/decent, WH 2 is very good.

You can play all the races (and DLC) for WH1 in WH2 if you own both games.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution is the best Total War game.

Warhammer 2 is the best TW game. If you at some point also buy TW1, you can play a special campaign that has both TW1 and TW2 maps and races.

For those interested, XCOM 2 is starting a free weekend in about 10 minutes from the time I am posting this. It will run until April 30.

78 on metacritic is not a bad look. It's not xcom 2 scores, but for a standalone 20 hour spinoff, that isnt bad at all.

Looks like the biggest complaints are 1. Graphical glitches (standard for the series.) 2. No permadeath and 3. No ability to make characters.

Not seeing anything really about gameplay being bad and that's all I really care about so this is pretty exciting.

You need to buy both for the mortal empires option (the better of the campaign options in WH2).

edit: humm lot of negative reviews about some bugs, I only played the DX+ edition I don't know about this very version.

Regardless, there is still hundreds of hours of content in TW2.

A lot of the factions need to be worked on from TW1, so the normal factions/DLC from TW2 are just better.

Wow, they really released Warhammer 2 only about a year after the first. Yeah, I can't see any argument to play the first one.
