The vast majority of the games they have given out are ones that have been free elsewhere in the past or ones that have been on sales for steep discounts before.
I was always curious about the game because it always had such stellar (pun intended) reviews and I was always temped to give it a shot, but didn't want to buy it as I wasn't sure if I'd like it and I was sure I'd be bad at it. Now I'm excited to give it a shot
Freespace is a 3D game. I would say it plays pretty much like Colony Wars did, if you remember back that far. I tried Freespace like a decade ago. I thought it was a lot of fun, but I had trouble controlling it with a mouse and keyboard. I think when it was released, the developer maybe expected people to use a joystick to play it.

Ah okay, thanks. It looks fun but I was hoping it was something that I could dive into with just laptop controls and that is probably a stretch if it's more meant for a flight-stick style control.
Man is Game pass for PC off to a bad start for me.
It took over a day to recognize I paid for the sub, after that I tried 6 quick games just to see how it works and half of them had problems.
Astroneer totally fails to launch (without errors), so I hunted down the exe and found it in a hidden and locked Apps folder (fu microsoft), and after changing permissions i tried to launch the exe and it fails due to missing C++ 2015 dist DLLs. Tried to update directly from MS and it fails telling me I already have a newer version. Went to delete that version and updated, still crashes. Uninstalled Astroneer because **** that.
Tried Old Man's Journy. Crashes after splash screen. **** that too.
Dead Cells is awesome and works like a charm.
Tried Worms WMD. Works but has no multiplayer. Wtf?
Tried Moonlighter and it's decently fun.
Now I'll try FM2019 and see if at least that one works without problems.
Also, I know it's stupid, but I miss achievements. They always add that little extra that makes me hunt for them. And I know I complain way too much for 1€, but c'mon MS, get your **** together on that client.
Wow Worms is still going. I sunk many hours into the original, where each worm was like 5 pixels, and was a complete beast at it. Was really disappointed when it went all cartoony.
Next week's epic freebie is Surviving Mars, which is nice since it is a game I do want to try out, but not really buy.
It was on my radar for a while and I finally bought it during a sale. I found it pretty mediocre and forgettable. I actually had to check in Steam to make sure I owned it and it was the game I was thinking about despite it only being like 3 months since I played it.

Back when I was 10 or so we (me and my brother & occasional friend) spent ton of hours with Worms Armageddon. We revisited the game last Christmas and it had aged very well.
