Did you ever get around to giving this a try? I just saw it for the first time in a video on youtube and it looked pretty intriguing. This is the only mention of the game in the whole forum, so I thought I'd ask.

I'd imagine the EU4 base game plays quite well, especially since last patch introduced some "mandatory dlc" mechanics to base game. The DLC ofc do make the game better, but if you don't like the base game without dlc, you won't like the game with dlc either.

I like the latest version of EU4 with no patches. I'm a mega noob/casual player but I def enjoy it a lot.

Thanks for the opinions, I'll reconsider. If anyone will have a spare EU IV key from buying the bundle I'd gratefully accept. Not sure if I'd ever give AoE III a shot since Endless Legend seems to me much better and I'd like to dedicate some more time to that first (which I don't have)

100% suckered by those pre-order bonuses! They had me at, "Alexander’s Body Event Chain: Try to steal the remains of Alexander the Great and erect a monument to his memory."

Half of my bookshelf is dedicated to this time period and I've put 2,500 hours into CK II. All in all, this game will probably be the end of me.

Enderal: Forgotten Story is out today on Stream. It's a DLC to a community mod to Skyrim called Enderal and honestly one of the best video games I've even player (and I strongly disliked Skyrim).

It's basically a complete overhaul of the original game, with new graphics, music, character progression (this game actually has XP point and "normal" character levels), proffesional voice acting and, most importantly, completely new story in a new world. While other changes are nice, the plot is the real reason why it's one of my favourite video games of all time. It's technically pretty standard high-fantasy, but incredibely detailed, very deep, with great characters and emotional weight.

It's obviously free, so yeah, if you own a copy of Skyrim Classic it's an absolute no-brainer. Oh, and with DCL this should be like 60-80hrs of gameplay, vanilla Enderal took me like 50hrs and I skipped some minor quests.

I have to remember this after/if(?) I finish Skyrim. I've been playing Skyrim VR and having a great time. I think buying a VR system just for Skyrim alone is worth it. Especially with the current deals that are available. I enjoy just walking from one village to the next admiring the scenery.
