Any thoughts on how My Summer Car would be for someone with very limited knowledge of actual car engines and parts?

It's been on my wish list for over 2 years and it looks great, but I'm a bit concerned about being totally lost when it comes to building the cars since it's EA and I suppose it's lacking in tutorials/help?

slay is alright. ive been a pretty big fan of card games my whole life and it was pretty great for the first three days I bought it last month. I played it a ton and it was fun to learn the quirks of the different heroes, relics, and strategies. It gets incredibly repetitive though. Only 3 heroes and once you start down a path the picks become pretty obvious. Game also isn't very hard if you've played a lot of card games. I've only opened it 2-3 times since those first three days and its been the same run because I play a few rounds and get bored and turn it off.

I bought it during the steam sale in december and feel like it was borderline worth the money. If you have any interest you should get it now because I dont think itll be worth it after the increase as is.

The engine build will be the toughest part. It will be pretty frustrating. The game allows you to build things with some of the parts missing. (But will obviously not work correctly) But really it isn't THAT hard. Especially if you're willing to use internet aids and googling when stuck.

My honest opinion is that it really helps you enjoy the game if you watch some twitch streams of someone playing it first. I recommend searching some of ej_sa twitch videos. Watch him build the car and play the game. Then try to do it on your own without referencing back to his stream.

Thanks - I'll have a look at some videos. It does look like a really fun game and I've been wanting to try it for years.

Any thoughts on the Resident Evil 2 30min demo? Looks interesting. I have the same problem with the RE franchise that I do with Final Fantasy, the chronological naming oddities where you have no idea what order a game came in the series based on the name. I must have some kind of OCD related to that where I can't get in to a series with this problem

EDIT: derp, didn't realize it was a remake. Point still stands, though more with FF where individual games seem to be their own series with multiple different releases under the same number.

Free game on Steam (for now) called Blast zone tournament. Looks like it could be fun. Never played Bomber Man but people are comparing it to that game

You're not exactly wrong about the game-design points, but it's still a really good game any everyone who has an interest in this kind of game should buy. It's good value even if you can't get 200 hours out of it.

To be fair 99% of the bad reviews have < 1h play time. Maybe it is that bad though lol.

Was wondering when you were going to pop in here with that. I was tempted at that price, but have about 10 games I must play before it so might as well hold out for maybe a 75%er a year from now.

Not quite a Steam game, but anyone playing Black Ops 4? I just got it free from buying a new PC. idk if I like it that much but playing with others might be more fun.

After a few more games of BO I think the problem, early on, is that I feel absurdly underpowered compared to everyone around me. I have ****ty guns with no attachments, I don't even have grenades (lol), I have like two perk choices for each slot and they all (except Ghost) suck.

I don't remember MW2/3 (the last COD games I played a lot) making you feel this helpless early on. Maybe it's because I played them at launch when everyone was on equal footing to start with. But the early game just feels like an un-fun grind to get to a point where I won't have to suck so bad.

The default classes were a lot better because there were just fewer options imo, the lower time to kill was also a skill/equipment leveler. My recollection from previous CoDs+prestiges was that I would have a good custom class and gear unlocked after like, 45 minutes. This one, several hours of unfun losing.

What I said at the time:

Quote:
The regular multiplayer is even more underdocumented. Why the **** are they still gating create-a-class behind progression? This is what, the 8th COD since Modern Warfare? People know about perks and attachments and ****.

And if the idea is "oh we'll let new players get their feet wet with default classes" I didn't even ****ing figure out that there were default classes until I was already like level 4, and once I saw I could change it from the SMG starter class there's no way of learning what any of the bewildering icons mean to distinguish between the classes. (Also the default classes are pretty bad? Just let me make custom classes immediately guys.)
Legitimately I got so frustrated I started cheezing experience by using the rocket launcher to shoot down UAVs because you get bonus XP for unlocking the various skins.

I tried a few Blackout games last night and wasn't super into it - for one, I'm bad, and also totally unfamiliar with battle royale games (never played any others) - but it's just kinda uneven. Like, you drop in and go minutes at a time without seeing anyone, then see someone and maybe you kill them or maybe they kill you and the fairly boring 5-10 minutes leading up to this was all for nothing.

Also, inventory management, wtf? Why is this a thing?

Kind of annoyed. I wanted to refund Rimworld on Steam and got denied twice. I had less than 5 hours in the game and it was just over 14 days since I purchased it. They said it would be on a case by case basis after the 2 hours. I’ve never requested a refund so I thought being my first time it would go through. They pretty much told me because I had 4 hours and 43 minutes played that I was ineligible.

2 hours was barely enough time to look at the menus, start a game, go through customizing the colonists, and then trying to figure out how to even start the play through. I just didn’t find the game fun enough to want to keep playing. And my hope was to get the refund and flip it back into another game.

I get their refund policy. It’s just disappointing since I barely even scratched the surface of the game, didn’t find it that fun, and this being the first time I ever tried to request a refund.
