Seems an odd target at first, but then I remember that the average gamer age is like 28-35 now.

Honestly I’m pretty Bethesda’d out - I enjoyed FO3 and NV and the Elder Scrolls games but couldn’t be bothered to play FO4 and didn’t like Dishonored 2.

Ok well it’s something called Fallout 76, not much information yet.

Doesn't seem like it will be a proper Fallout RPG. Probably some online game slapped into the Fallout universe.

It would be a pretty dumb move for them to create this much hype prior to E3 only to tell everyone "Oh sorry, it's not REALLY a new fallout game! my bad." If it was some kind of Fallout universe game like Fallout shelter. I think they would've waited for E3 to announce it.

Could it be some MMO?

Speculation seems to be it will be a Survival game like Ark/Rust/DayZ/etc.

My guess is they do an Elder Scrolls game before another proper Fallout game.

Fall Out 76: Hope County, Montana

They're going to fix everything wrong with the ending of Far Cry 5.

This seems like a terrible idea but fits in with how much effort they spent on the absolutely pointless base building part of FO4

Tried to purchase the new Humble Monthly (HOI 4, Blackwake, Portal Knights). My credit card was declined twice but it was nevertheless charged for $12 twice. I got a message that they do not accept prepaid credit cards. Is that new? I used my Neteller credit card without problems in the past.
I submitted a ticket with Humble support but they might take 3-4 business days to reply.

A lot of companies that have recurring payment subscriptions no longer accept prepaid cards, Since the whole scam is a "set it and forget it" model.

You can (and should) always use the gift option with HB and then gift the package to yourself. That way it won't be subscription, unlike the default 1-month option.

If you have a subscription, then you get 10% off the store, which is a nice little bonus. Do you get that if you gift it to yourself?

I cancelled my subscription with the sub-par monthly bundles that have been coming out recently. I wouldn't mind trying HOI4, but if they are giving it away in a monthly bundle, there is a chance that the price is going to go way down in the next few months.

The first two charges have been reversed before I got a reply from Humble. I tried again (as a gift) and the card was charged but declined once more.

I keep a month to month subscription which i pause immediately when the previous month’s games are released. I forgot to stop it one time when I was debating getting Pillars and decided I didn’t want it but I’m not even unhappy about that one. What’s nice is you can unpause it to get the 10% discount and then immediately suspend it again.

I bought Cultist Simulator because the reviews were good and described it as a “single player card game”, which sounds like my jam. Unfortunately that was a poor description and I’m not sure whether I like it yet, will put some more time in but so far seems kinda boring.

Edit: upon further review it sounds like it gets more interesting as it goes on so there’s hope yet. Still it’s ultimately a resource management game more than a card game, it just uses card shaped icons to represent resources.

It's really more of an interactive fiction game with a UI and gameplay that is inexplicably based around waiting for timers to run out and occasionally dying because of RNG. I played it a lot this weekend and it is fun, but it's frustrating. There's obviously a ton of replayability, in theory, but I can't imagine ever playing again after winning once, because the main game loops are just not fun.

Xenonauts free on GOG at the start of the summer sale:

https://www.gog.com/

if you spend $5 during the sale you get sunless sea for free, which I guess is also worth pointing out.

edit: oh! also new games on gog connect: I got this time grim dawn, kingdom: new lands, prison architect, hotline miami 2, legend of grimrock and psychonauts

Thanks as always for the heads-up.

Has anyone played Xenonauts? I love XCom and XCom 2. Is there a reason to play Xenonauts instead of the originals?

The interface and gameplay are pretty slick. There are a lot of nice little gameplay tweaks, like you don’t have to spend a dozen turns finding that one last alien. When guys panic, they run *away* from the aliens, etc. But for the most part it’s a refurbished version of the classic X-Com. I think there’s also a strong fan/modding community.

The OG X-Com was one of my favorite games of all time; Xenonauts is the only remake/reboot that I’ve really enjoyed.

Anyone played Obduction? I sometimes see it on lists of recommended puzzle games, and it's 60% off ($12) in GOG's summer sale
