soo many games I want. It's perhaps fortunate that my system can't run them all (Ghostbusters, SW Force Unleashed)

I'm assuming that games like that won't automagically work on ps3 once steam is out - it'll be like Mac, stuff needs to be ported.

0% chance PC games on Steam work on any console.

its not even Steam thats coming to PS3, its Steamworks which just means automatic updates, dlc, etc.

I swear I was just thinking about hoping Civ4 went on sale yesterday and boom! Now it is.

Did someone already post that it was going to be on sale, or am I psychic?

If you like the total war series you should pick up Knights of honor while it's on sale.

Graphics arent as good, but the game play is more fun imo. Played the hell out of that game until I got good at it and realized the AI is pretty bad.

Finally bought my first ever game on steam after having downloaded it about a year ago. Looks like I could've got ghostbusters even cheaper last week but was still only £5. Next up, orange box. Then codies racing pack prob. Oh god what have I done?

Edit: Actually next up is faster broadband. 2.5 hrs remaining on ghostbusters. 50Mb here we come!

this. Its why I only play 3 maps, and even then shoot for a 1:1 kdr.

And Ghostbusters is mildly dissappointing in its gameplay.

Don't judge by ghostbusters dl speed. For some reason it's been the slowest game to download for me. All the rest get about 5-10 times the speed it does (~100 mB/s vs 500-1K mB/s for, say, Civ4 or Orange Box).

Dunno if they only allocate a certain amount of bandwidth for certain downloads, but it is possible.

Also, only played part of the tutorial, but I really like the controls that I've learned so far. Venting as a form of reloading (keybound to R no less) is kinda fun.

I only have my laptop (not desktop) so I can only play old video games on it.

Since I've been buying all these games on Steam though, I've had it open a lot.

I just played Opposing Force for the first time ever because I knew it'd play on my laptop. Not too bad, I suppose. Funny playing a game that old for the first time though.

Same boat only with Deus Ex, all the vocals are all grainy and the colors distorted, not sure if its a product of running a game that old on windows 7 or what.

Downloaded Killing Floor, Audiosurf, and Complete Civ IV so far. Killing Floor is kind of dumb, but if I can find a good multiplayer game, it might be fun enough. Audiosurf has promise as far as quick time wasters go, and Civ IV, well, it's Civ IV - I already had the base game.

Yeah. I blind-bought the Introversion pack and Uplink has been worth the $5 alone. There is a great guide on a site called "modlink" that helps explain the game a bit better then the tutorial and in-game help.

That's exactly what I just did. It won't ever be cheaper than that by any considerable margin. Why not.

I just had a friend on steam tell me he bought like 8 games in the past 2 weeks, stuff like mass effect 2, batman arkham asylum, assassin's creed 2, just cause, etc and im like "wow you must have a lot of free time to play all these games" and hes like "naw just like 1-2 hours a week". lol, steam trap. Im just happy ive gotten really good at not falling into their money trap.

its not really a money trap if hes spending <15 dollars a game. and he doesnt have to worry about losing the cd/cdkey, so he'll have them in 2 or 3 years.
