Sure, but Black Mesa and The Witness made it worthy of the investment. I just played 30 minutes of Kingdom: New Lands and was quite intrigued by it. Definitely will play some more. It's a roguelike, but it's more of a strategy game. I also played some Slime-San and even though I didn't like it because of the controls it reminded me a lot of Super Meat Boy/Fly'N and I think some people will like it.

Got me player unkowns battlegrounds. It's still an alpha but already a good game.
It's a shooter were 99 people get dropped on an island by a plane and you start with nothing. The goal is to be the last man standing. You can pick up items and the map gets smaller after some time. Simple but great concept.

They have a team mode. There is no real way to stop them from being on a team, but there is also no real guarantee that you'll be in the same game, also. You have to queue up at the same time and hope to be in the same lobby.

Also, there are no voice comms in the game, and you cannot see player names, if I remember correctly, so even if with voice comms using external program, you may not know for sure if that person in X building or running to you is good or bad until you're dead.

I was thinking of 2 or more friends using Skype and sticking close to one another. They can gang up on others while being harder to kill themselves. That defeats the spirit of the game.
The game sounds like a great concept though. I might try it out at some point although I am principally opposed to paying 30 Euros for an alpha version.

If it is people randomly meeting in the game and might be backstabbed at any time that's fine but real life friends that stick together till the end might ruin the game.

it doesnt make sense for you to kill your friends before you are the last players since it reduces the chance you guys win and your friends would have to wait for your game to finish before you guys can queue up again.

You can play as a team too, but then you usually get paired with other teams. You also see them on the radar, if they are on your team then. I think the team mode is even better and adds some more. Great game overall.
