This.

It's an entirely new game.

I see Cities: Skylines Deluxe is on sale for $10 (75% off) until Thursday. DLC is extra

It's a super-duper version of Simcity with amazing graphics.

I've read it gets stale rather quickly and once you figure things out there's nothing to challenge you? Comments on that?

Depends what you want.

Do you want a sandbox city builder with all the freedom and zero challange? You can play for hundreds of hours trying to place every single bush and stone in the right position to get a fantastic and huge living city (watch someyoutube videos of people doing crazy stuff, like this guy https://www.youtube.com/user/strictoaster). But if you are not into that this game is a dud imho. It's kinda like Planet Coaster. The only other interesting part is the traffic, but after a while it really feels gimmicky and arbitrary, especially when the stupid death waves start (all people joining the city are the same age, so huge parts of the city sometimes die off at the same time) and your emergency services prefer to drive to someone on the other side of the city instead of someone close by. And then get's stuck in traffic. So they arrive late and the building starts rotting. And the whole neighborhood leaves.

It's worth a try, but imho it's good at what it does but very very overrated in general.

Also the DLC is an overpriced joke. Modding scene is big tho.

Probably. But I guess in the same way Simcity or any building game would get stale. It's got a nifty traffic simulator. Also water and flooding is modeled so you can build dams and flood channels etc. Natural Disasters are a DLC...

You are constrained by money in the normal game so growth is incremental.

Terrain can be dug out, hills flatten (or raised), lakes made etc... You can design freeways, traffic circles, clover leafs... Youtube search "Cities: Skylines" to review some of the crazy stuff that people put together.

It sounds exactly what I want. I basically just want Legos in Sim City form and can't be bothered with the management stuff, I would always just cheat in SC 2000. Is Planet Coaster the same deal?

I think this is why prefer games like Caesar/Pharaoh/Zeus or RCT1/2, having scenarios to beat gives some sense of accomplishment. I think this is why I can't get seriously into CK2 or CIV 5 as I suck at making up my own goals or scenarios and I don't find it interesting.

Mad Max for $3.19 - http://www.cdkeys.com/pc/games/mad-max-pc

Never used that site before but people are saying it's all good.

It's one of the grey-market sites, but way less shady than G2A and company as they sell stuff themselves and not through others. So mostly old-school region based resale and resale of keys snagged in other sales AFAIK.

So decide based on your moral stance on the matter. Or just buy it while holding up two middle fingers if you are based in NZ or AUS.

FWIW if you want to check if a site is a grey-market site, search for blizzard games. Digital codes can only be sold on BNet, so if they have Diablo they are reselling store keys.

Civ games have always had actual win condition though. Civ 5 for example has 4 different ones.

I've used the site to buy DS3 and it was no problem at all.

Yeah but there's no real campaign to play. I know there are scenarios but no one plays those.

I haven't played Civ 5 but I think he means you can win via culture or war or maybe they have specific win CONS like the stuff in Europa 4 maybe?

I get it, I think it's a bit too generic, playing 'the same' random game over for a different victory condition doesn't feel like a 'campaign' to me.

I had this issue with EU4, then i started chasing achievements. At least for EU4, and I'd imagine CK2, they have achievements that are good long game goals.

Ark is great if you want to dedicate your entire life to playing a game. The persistent world idea sounds great in theory but is really annoying if you actually have a life outside of playing the game and can't can't play for 2 days and come back to find all your stuff gone and your base destroyed or taken over by others.

For Witcher 3 players, or maybe anyone who has GOG (dunno how they picked invite recipients) - anyone else playing the Gwent closed beta? I'm enjoying the occasional game.

I leveled to like lvl5 and then haven't played a game. It just wasn't that fun.
