Let's talk about Stream and buy mountains of games - Page 726 - Video Games

I watched one twitch stream that got me hooked on the game and the basics tutorial lasted about 20 minutes. Sure the game is much deeper than that but the game really makes learning fun.

Things like learning that no matter how high his skill in growing is, it is not a good idea to have a pyromaniac as your main crop planter/cutter. Or learning to check what weapon a colonist has before sending him to hunt. You remember real quick when you lose half the available trees on a map b/c you sent someone hunting a chinchilla w/ Molotov cocktails.

Well yeah in a lot of ways, that's true, but time really is a factor. Prefer games like FTL where you learn from run to run but each individual game isn't that long versus something where you build over time and sink tons of hours into one play through (other examples I enjoy in this vein are Renowned Explorers, Invisible Inc, and even like Rogue Legacy or Enter the Gungeon).

Humble Monthly had: Xcom 2(obviously), Ryse: Son of Rome, Abzu, Steamworld Heist, Okhlos, Project Highrise, Husk, Hollow Knight, Oh Deer. Anyone know of these games, aside from xcom and ryse?

Yeah, looks like a pretty good bundle this month.
Says that it is valued at $179.
But that's obviously not counting that a lot of the games were on sale for a lot cheaper.

Nice I was considering getting Steamworld Heist for iPad but I'll take it as part of HB for now. Definitely will not be keeping all those games, gotta see which ones interest me and then will give some away. Of course I'm not even playing XCOM yet since I got Darkest Dungeon right after.

I played Darkest Dungeon for a bit last year and I couldn't figure out how to make my excursions into the dungeons +EV. Got unfun rather quickly.

Yep. Creative Assembly is a shadow of their former selves, but this one isn't bad. Still the best battle engine, "strategy" is laughable, and the fantasy stuff works well with the game. I'd have preferred an official LOTR total war, but that's me.

It's close but I love the atmosphere DD has and it also doesn't take 5 minutes to load every mission.
