Aaaand spore is still crappily expensive for a game that's been out over two years now. Over £30 for it and an expansion pack? Ha. I've been waiting for over two years for the price to go down, I guess I can wait some more.

£3 for Mirrors edge is good enough for me

Ya, your_doom's review of Mirror's Edge makes it sound like a great $5 game. Just bought it.

It's a snap buy for 5$. I wouldn't even think about it.

If you are like me, and don't suffer from motion sickness, the first few levels are pure awesomeness imo. After those, it's the same with new colors.

EDIT: ya, so I just opened steam to check the prices: Dead Space and Mirrors Edge are snap-buys imo. For 15€ together there is no better value. You'll get easily 10-15 hours out of them ( If you don't to achievements / speed courses / stars that is ). Spore is an incredibly bad value: complete pack for 50€? Yeah, gtfo.

Steam owns me but I just got access to OnLive and so far it delivers. We'll see what happens as more people get added and their library gets built up.

Ah hah, this is the one I was waiting for, Mass Effect 2 at 40% off. I've held off in this one for months because I had so much other stuff still unplayed but really wanted it.

Also Mass Effect 1 is 75% off which is an instant buy if you haven't played it, it's a great story "space" opera. I actually found the combat pretty tiresome though but the story and interactions were engrossing.

Steam really wants me to buy games that I'll never play. It's just so damned hard to pass up on $5 games that are 80+ on metacritic.

For this week's sale I've picked up Red Alert 3, Mirror's Edge, and Mass Effect for a total of $25.

Yarg. Its an expensive week. Just got mass effect 1 and 2.

Luckily I've already got Dragon Age, otherwise I might have had to buy that as well tomorrow. I've heard the expansions for it aren't that good so I'm probably safe from them too.

Grabbed mirror's edge and mass effect as well. Don't really care if they're good at this point, $10 is hard to get upset about.

Then I went out and bought Super Mario Galaxy, Super Paper Mario (whatever the wii version is called) and Tiger Woods for the PS3 and spent about $90.

Steam is so much nicer to my bank account.

I passed on RA3. I probably should have bought it, but I already have like five games. By the time I finish even three of those, RA3 will be $15 without a sale.

I've played about an hour of Mirror's Edge now and three hours of Mass Effect. Both games seem great. It's a great feeling when I can get a good, fluid run going in Mirror's Edge. Unfortunately this is broken up with some points where I'm not entirely sure where to go. I take a wrong turn and end up jumping off a building to my death.

Mass Effect seems really good so far. Very similar to KOTOR. Great story so far, it's what Bioware does best.

I haven't played a RTS in a long time. I've been going through the campaign thinking it might be a bit easier. For the most part it is since I don't need to worry about getting screwed by a bad build order. Once they give me command of a bunch of units and multiple objectives I get overwhelmed. I find that there's just too much to keep track of. Will probably need to bump it down to easy until I get the hang of it again. The cutscenes sure are entertaining though.

I like the contrast between the two games so far. Mirrors Edge has me all jazzed up for running around like a maniac, and Mass Effect has a bunch of story that's slowly progressing and hard to follow, much like the combat!

Mass effect 2 really sucked imo, I was a huge fan on #1 too.

I kinda wish I hadn't got Mirrors edge, it makes the other games I play look bad. Every time I switch games to something like mass effect after playing it I get frustrated why I can't jump and land and roll and do all sorts of cool stuff. Mass effect is still awesome though.

lol jesus christ do they want all my money! I can't buy anything at the moment, my main rig OS hard drive died a horrible death yesterday. Replacement and 128Gb SSD on the way today I should get back up and running fully in time to spend yet more money on games I don't have time to play. Annoyingly I have lost my ME2 and Batman saves with that loss, they were never backed up and were in a stupid place :P
