I spent about half an hour in the 'advanced league' of Speedrunners. Spent the entire time getting rekt but I saw some parts of maps I had never seen before.

Of course my retailer runs out of codes for Radeon Rewards but I did get lesser AMD Reward code and I get to choose one of the following:

Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham
Sniper Elite III
Murdered: Soul Suspect
Thief (I believe I've heard it's utter ****, so probably a no go)

Suggestions please!

Thief is great - most of the criticism for that came from people who didn't seem to realize it is a stealth game and went on about how terrible the combat system was.

Murdered: Soul Suspect was ok. It is fairly short and the story is good so you would likely complete it. It doesn't have that much game play, the crime scenes are quite simplified and main trouble comes from trying to dodge killer wraths or whatever they were.

Max Payne 3 is great don't listen to the haters. Great for like, $3.99 or whatever. Don't pay more than $6 for it, it's linear and short and the story is gibberish, but it's got atmosphere and fun mechanics. Certainly the best of the Max Payne games.

87 on Metacritic. I don't know what you were expecting from a Max Payne game if it's not linear bullet time shooting sections split up by overwrought fake noir comic book style cutscenes where Max gets doublecrossed like 3-4 times while constantly complaining. This one switched developers and Rock Star seemingly gets obsessed with the last movie the head developer saw, so it's pretty much Man On Fire, the videogame. And that's worth $5. You get to shoot a lot of bad guys in slow motion.

This is a series where the most significant character development the protagonist undergoes, in 3 full games, is when he gets a haircut.

My only real quibble with MP3 is that apparently in early development they were going to make him be fat, like actually obese, in the Brazil parts, but they slimmed him down a bit so he ended up just stocky.

A legitimately fat dude in bullet time would've been hilarious.

I had a legitimately good time playing MP3. I rented it through gamefly, took a day or two to beat it and that was that. Well worth if for cheap or a rental if you are gonna play it on a console

Who cares what metacritic says though? I mean video game reviews from sites/outside sources aren't exactly the best measurement given the way things operate in the gaming world. I was obviously joking at I'd pay 5 bucks to not play it or whatever. But that game was pretty bad. Then again people have different levels of content.

hmm, internet seems to hate Thief though, actually of the 4 games Lego Batman 3 seems the most likeable, I don't have yet kids but I know I'm doomed.

Never played it but seen some good reviews for it, some people seem to like it.

Abstract Bundle on BundleStars is intriguing, 10 games for $2.50 and most look decent to good. Also 5-6 of them have trading cards.
