Valve Anticheat. When you cheat on game that uses VAC and get caught, you get banned from the game.

Eh, stable studios is a bit of a stretch. inExile is mostly shovelware besides these big ticket Kickstarters, Obisidian has a track record of producing 85% of a great game each release, etc.

But there's just something unsettling about big names doing this ****. Like Spike Lee and Zach Braff, come on, you guys need to beg? It's borderline scammy to freeroll with fans money instead of doing it the usual way.

Therein lies the rub, though. If you're a "stable studio" that has had some success, shouldn't you be funding your projects with the money you've made form previous ones, at which point the consumers purchase it (or not, based on merit hopefully) and then you make more money and continue the cycle? Isn't that how capitalism is supposed to work? And if you're an unknown, why should I trust you when I'm not reaping any rewards other than the product itself? It's like buying stock in a company and then being given permission to purchase from the company, even though everyone else will eventually be able to as well. To me it just seems like developers have found a nice way to push risk onto fans. There are certainly some extenuating circumstances, but honestly there's way too much quality, fully formed entertainment out there for me to bother investing in concepts.

On a brighter note there's a pretty sweet-looking Android/PC Humble Bundle Starting today with Thomas was Alone in the $1 bracket for anyone who doesn't have it. The BTA group looks decent as well - if these were iOS games I'd snap it up in a heartbeat.

Raiden 3 is now on Steam! Definitely the worst game in the series but at least there is a Raiden game on Steam now and that's a good thing! Shikigami next please.

Gauntlet has been great so far playing with 3 friends. Nothing groundbreaking but just a solid game imo.

People should pick up Red Orchestra 2 while it is on sale. The sale coincides with a new patch and it's just really refreshing to see a dev continue to work on a game 2+ years after release and not charge for extra content.

hahahaha suck my dick bethesda. Specs for The Evil Within

"The company also revealed the recommended system specification for the PC version. The list includes a 64-bit version of Windows 7 or Windows 8, an Intel Core i7 processor with four cores or more, 4 GB of RAM and 50 GB of hard drive space. The game also needs an Nvidia GeForce GTX 670 or equivalent with 4 GB of VRAM, a high speed Internet connection and a Steam account for activation.

According to the blog, the company is not producing minimal system requirements. Bethesda warned that it cannot guarantee optimal performance if customers attempt to run the game below the recommended specs. The company also stressed that gamers will need 4 GB of VRAM whether they meet the recommended requirements or not."

I can already see the rant about how it was obvoulsy piracy that destroyed the PC sales for this thing.

Yah.. that seems pretty insane. Only 1.64% of users on the Steam hw survey have 4GB VRAM. The 670 doesn't even come in a 4GB VRAM version does it?

Setting a 4GB VRAM requirement makes absolutely no sense.

It's such a stupid requirement that I have a hard time believing it's not some sort of misunderstanding.

Is this game even a big deal? If I had heard of it before I completely forgot about it.

I don't even know if that's a good deal by bundle standards anymore. Half-Life and all its expansions are so old that nobody cares anymore (and everyone has played them), CS:S is worthless in a package that has CS:GO, L4D GOTY is worthless in a package that has L4D2. So in terms of getting something you might give a **** about, you can think of the bundle as $5 each for HL2+episodes, CS:GO, L4D2, Portal, and Portal 2, even though everyone on the planet has played at least half of those by now.

(going full hater mode here for the sake of arguing )

If that bundle was on GOG you would buy 2 copies.

Never played any of the HL2 stuff other than the main game itself, any good?
