The exposure/marketing you get with Steam is easily worth the 30% itself. Add in the ease of distribution and everything else with Steam and it's a fair deal.

This. And it is to be expected for big names to try to get out to have the whole pie to themselves. I think we're relatively safe though in general.

I really think that's due to the artificial inflated value of Steam-DRM that we gamers have created. It's created a power shift that you either have to bow down to, or be crippled. You can *say* that there are other options, but the fact is that other DRM copies (or even DRM free at this point) are artificially under-valued for no reason other than "we like to have our games all in one place."

So sure, 30% may be a tolerable cut, but it isn't exactly appetizing when it's virtually your only option for "real exposure" as you pointed out.

Was reaaalllllyyyy pumped for this, as the beta was amazing (one server, unlimited chaos). However, the official server is no longer available so the community is currently dispersed among a couple hundred player-run severs. While the beta was usually over 1,000 players online, it's a struggle to find one with a few hundred at this point.

The solid servers will hopefully rise to the top over the next few weeks, but as of now it feels a bit scattered and empty :/

Steam don't get a cut from steam keys, only from sales from the steam store. Places like GMG still get a cut of course but that argument doesn't really apply. Telltale have got big enough now that any game they release is going to get attention. They don't need to rely on the steam's exposure anymore. At least they're keeping their games on steam, I'm still surprised ubi haven't followed ea's lead. You can hate on origin all you want but people are still buying games on it.

On top of that, TWD Season 2 will not authenticate my Telltale user info, so I cannot run it atm. I know it's launch day, but how the **** does a company decide to migrate to their own distribution and not have the title playable on launch day?

No, apparently the steam version works just fine. Finally got the telltale version up and running later this afternoon, but it seems like they just removed all authentication altogether lol. I feel bad for their support people, but whoever made the decision to release in this way is legit ******ed.

pretty cool bundles on GoG.com and I noticed if u already got a game in one bundle that u want it says u can complete it and pay less.
rogue legacy+spelunky+sword of the stars the pit+2dlcs + ftl bundle seems like a pretty good deal (2 of these are on my wish list)
