If I recall correctly, the Saints Row in the humble bundle is the PG version. Just a heads up...

So has Humble Bundle given up doing multiplatform indie bundles? Not sure I mind that much, the ebook bundle was really cool, just a little confusing what direction they're going.

What else could they possibly be used for? The only time they add games to the Humble Bundle, it is always a week later for people who have paid above the average.

It's the full, uncut version. Even people in countries where the law mandates certain censorship are able to use the Humble Bundle key to download the uncensored version.

I don't think this is how it goes. In my experience at least, if you buy the bundle before the games were added, then you get the add-on games no matter what you paid. If you buy the bundle after the new games are added, then you have to pay above average to get them.

Yes, that is how it works. It's not important to my point though.

Even if humble bundle is doing AAA games, there are other big indie bundle sites like indiegala or groupees that always have indie games.

if you don't want to spend money, then dota is an obvious choice over league. You get full access to every bit of gameplay content without paying a thing, and the only negative tradeoff is a steeper learning curve.

Was really hoping to get Shadowrun Returns, but after reading fnord_too's review and Starvingwriter82 talk about it it seems like a pass. Has anyone else played it?

Would really like to play an rpg, has anyone played Dust. I saw someone mentioned that it's a really pretty game earlier itt, but how is the actual game itself?

Another bundle? I am never going to play all these games.

Dust is certainly not an RPG. It has elements, but its essentially a beat em up. While it is visually stunning (one of the best looking games out imo, especially considering it was done by one guy) the gameplay unfortunately gets very repetitive very quickly, and the story just isnt all that great

fwiw I haven't actually played Shadowrun Returns, was just speaking about the reviews I heard from friends and read online.

I'm passing on it too though, which bums me out.

Any reviews/opinions on King's Bounty and Men of War? I'm thinking someone mentioned King's Bounty somewhere, but I can't remember.

They are currently up on the Humble Bundle Weekly sale.

Kings bounty is an awesome Heroes Of Might & Magic-like, imho pretty good. Def fun if you like the genre. Easy to play a bit and pop out when you don't have time. 3D engine isn't top but works pretty well.

--------------------

Men of War is an RTS with the possibiliy of direct control of units. It's def not newbie friendly as every soldier has an inventory to manage and tanks are crazy hard to keep alive if used badly. Very very heavy on micro-management and has a so-so engine ( could be done much better tbh ). Single player is kinda repetitive and never got me hooked.

Assault Squad is the version to get, and should still have a good online community with games available. Don't bother with the other two.

If you had trouble with Company of Heroes, this one is def not for you.

Oh thanks Master, sounds like it's probably a pass then too.

Yeah Starving, that's what I gathered from your post, but agreed with your assessment, especially after reading the other review. Thanks for researching it for me.

So are there any good new rpgs on the market?

I enjoyed King's Bounty a lot. Got lots of hours out of it. It's not a game that you can't put down until you finish or anything, but it's good to play a few hours here and there imo.

I haven't heard much in the way of new RPGs coming out. I"ve been going through old playstation games on my VITA at the moment, it's good times being able to replay Parasite Eve, Final Fantasy Tactics, etc. for cheap.

I spent while looking for a good Final Fantasy Tactics type RPG, then eventually just gave up and replaying FFT.

I still have Bastion on Steam that I bought in the last summer sale and still haven't gotten to.

This is a crime against gaming.

I only finished Antichamber from Summer Sale, Deus Ex: HR didn't hook me up as much (too much stealth and cut scenes), Trine 2 was okay but I got bored (finished around 60% of it), CKII too overwhelming for now. Torchlight II I have rediscovered and slowly making my way through it (just hit level 23).

But holy cow after 10 years (I used to play it for around 2-3 years when I was a kid) CS:GO is so freaking addictive after all these years (well, I know it's just a new version of CS1.6, but you get the point). I hope I get bored with it (might be tough though) so that I can play next item on my list - Tomb Raider.

I have actually inserted all my unplayed games (or games I'd like to play again) as a list on www.random.org and made a list to help me decide order in which I will play my games. Not sure what's wrong with me.

DX HR overrated imo. I quit when I got stuck one of the ******ed boss fights.

The boss fights were such wtf moments. IIRC they actually outsourced the boss fights to an outside team who had no (or very little) connection with what else was going on in the game. It's one of the most bizarre decisions ever.

Boss fights are lame but there's only four of them and the rest of the game is great. Not as much replay value as Invisible War, but definitely worth the playthrough and still an excellent addition to the Deus Ex series.

As for beating boss fights, simply spam that internal bomb enhancement (typhoon, I think?). Game gives you more than enough ammo to do so.

Bastion was awesome, but probably only 12-16 hrs of playtime if you go through it twice.

I'm currently playing some old FF games as well.

Papers, Please is a kickass Greenlight game that comes out on the 8th, you can preorder now.

But skip Steam and buy from Humble on the game's main page to get a Steam Key and a DRM free version, while also giving 90% of the price to the developer (as opposed to 70% with Steam).
