Still can't really complain as four hours of entertainment for $5 is fair, but I have basically the same issue with this as I did with the first game: You really only use one spell at a time, so it gets repetitive really, really fast. I'm not even using all my skill points, because there's no real point in picking up a variety of abilities when the best way to clear most areas is to pick one ability and spam it.

I feel like I must be doing it wrong having a ton of skill points just sitting around, but there's nothing interesting to spend them on.
Yeah I built an engineer that used a cannon and I felt as though I had pretty much broken the game. I just spammed piercing shot or w/e and instantly cleared rooms.

Clever. Saw this on Twitch and voted for this intending to buy it. Didn't realize it was WarZ.

Spec Ops: the Line? absolutely.

Now a warning, its not a terribly long game. You might only get 7 hours of gameplay out of it before you're finished with it. It also isn't the "best" shooter as far as gameplay mechanics(it can be somewhat clunky at times) and you're stuck in 3rd person. Multiplayer might as well be nonexistant as it was tacked on and not well thought out(not to mention nobody plays it).

That said, the story is fantastic, the setting is one of my favorite in any shooter I've played, and its probably the best single player experience I've had in the last few years. For $7 you can power through it in a weekend and it'd be well worth it.

fallout new vegas any good?

considering picking up hitman, since I liked parts of the old games, but apparently not the same stuff actual fans of the series liked

also, semi-interested in torchlight, but from the first video on steam it looks like the point of the game is the run past enemies

I'm doing pretty good, <$20 so far. The 2nd week will probably all be repeat sales.

fwiw i was never able to get KOTOR running properly on my dual monitor win7 machine. I didn't put a lot of time into it but you're probably not just going to be able to press the go button on this one.

It's not too bad. Just have to install a wide screen patch and fix the issue with the movies

Annoying though.

I love that the F:NV strat guide is more expensive than the game itself.

Who uses a strat guide anymore anyway?

Every diablo-like game ends up like that eventually once you're just grinding bosses for gear.

For those who picked up F:NV be sure to check out fallout nexus for mods. Much has been done in the 3 years since it was released.

Permanently so. Although that doesn't typically stop me from buying the odd game here and there (bought a bunch of stuff in the gog sale, preordered EU4 recently).

I guess it seems like the summer sale is kinda focused on...
a.) indie games
b.) games you probably would already have played by now if you wanted them (like, most sale games I would be interested are things I already bought on sale awhile back)

I've only purchased 1 steam game so far, but I'm a huge nit. Until I actually got a job and started buying my own games, I probably only purchased <10 games lifetime and I spent years playing them before finally quitting (Starcraft, Diablo 2, Counter-strike mostly). So now I have such high standards for "time I expect to spend playing" before I make a purchase. If I have any doubt that I wouldn't like a game or play it for an extended time, I won't buy it.
