The Witcher is probably worth $5 but I couldn't complete it, don't think I managed to get halfway through it. At some points I really had no idea where I was meant to go and waiting around for my health to restore/finding rest points was really annoying from what I remember of it.

I played a demo of osmos and it played fine for me.

I like Witcher. There was a little bit too much wandering at some points of the game, but has intresting world and cool protagonist. It is bit more mature than most other rpps.

cool thanks for this, got a question though. Is it worth paying double for the deluxe download edition?

For those who like old school can I recommend Gridrunner Revolution by our favorite hippie coder Jeff Minter. Great fun and 75% off.

I never bought any of the new MP Shooters as I had no idea if they would run properly on my laptop. Now BF Bad Company 2 was so cheap that didnt mind risking it. And it works so well that I am barely doing anything else than playing it, incl Vietnam. So that will be my Christmas Holiday, FU Steam....

the witcher is great, and witcher 2 is supposed to be even better.

Anyone played Disciples 3?

I'd say no. The in game stuff isn't needed, and the other things are just fluff, IMO.

Spore is getting down to an acceptable price after years of overprice.

Trouble is its £7.50. Rage. I should have made my account use USD.

Anyone played Disciples 3?
Disciples 3 got pretty sub-par reviews. For what it's worth, I was a huge fan of Disciples II and haven't bothered playing 3 based on what I've read about it.

Ah that's a shame. I'm really looking for an rpg/strategy game. I loved the Heroes of Might and Magic series, and haven't found anything to fill the gap. Anyone have any recommendations, preferably a medieval or fantasy setting, but it doesn't matter too much.

Thanks for the heads up Goofy.

If your download of a game is slow, just change your download region to somewhere random. I just switched mine to Hungary and went from 80KB/s to 400-500KB/s

^_^

Check out King's Bounty pack if it goes cheap, it's very HOMM like, but has a pretty high difficulty. It's all I've been playing lately. Easily worth it if it gets down to like $8 again for the Legends+Armored Princess+Crossworlds pack.

I'll look up Kings Bounty soon, should I play the entire series or just the latest one?

They sequel Armored Princess is pretty much just a new game built on the same engine, so technologically they're the same.

People seem to say Armored princess is better overall, more units/items/spells etc, but I found Legend's easier to get into. Either way they're difficult games but have wicked fast quickload/quicksave feature. :P

If it were me I'd probably start on Legends. If you go on their official forums you can find some fan made manauls in pdf that have unit stats and all that jazz in them that can help quite a bit.

When you start try to find some Royal Snakes, they'll help a lot off the start.

King's Bounty platinum is the full pack, looks like it's at $26 right now but I'm sure it was around $8 when I bought it a few weeks back. It should get down there again during this sale.
