Question about the wish list. Is putting a game on it all you need to do to get an email when it goes on sale?

I had skyrim: dragonborn on muh wish list when the sale started, but I didn't get an email about it. I figured maybe it was because of the giant poo the steam servers took at the start of the sale, but I just want to make sure I didn't do anything wrong, which I probably did.

seriously, if you're new to civ buy IV instead of V. Its rock solid and dirt cheap. I got hundreds of hours out of it before I even really knew what I was doing and loved it. Still can't get into V.

I don't get emails very frequently during sales. Didn't get any for yesterday, yet all 6 of the games on my wishlist were 35% off or more.

In theory I think that's how it should work.

In reality though, I only very rarely get an email when one of the items on my wish list go on sale. It has happened, but it usually doesn't. Haven't gotten a single mail for any of the ones on my wishlist for this sale.

Ok Civ 4 complete at 3.74 is a go.

Due to it shutting down and not taking my purchases numerous times over the past 24 hours I've only ended up with Civ5. Never played a Civ before, and I know people have said 4>5. But oh well.

This. Just came here to post that crashing during the summer sale is something I would expect out of origin, not steam.

DLC Quest is sitting in my wishlist and at 66% off, it's currently EUR 1.01.

And I'm still waiting for that 75% because it just feels wrong not to.

All of the HOMM3 talk has made me want HOMM6. But at $20 and the complete at $32.49. Gonna have to wait some to see if it drops more than the 35% it currently is.

If you have never played a civ game before, civ5 > civ4 imho.

But yea, still - if you enjoy GTA-type games (pre GTA IV when GTA was GTA, that is), then it's very good. Funny, cool and a ton of stuff to do.

You bastards need to get in on the Strike Suit pack, I have only grinded Strike Suit: Infinity but its def worth the money IMO, and you get trading cards! It's like a very hectic shooter simulator in space, in third person view, and you get to transform into a MECH! DEF a buy! Infinity is just €1.50 right now, VERY high value!

Civ V question - if I passed up on Gods & Kings but think Brave New World looks better, is it a good idea to get both, or will the game still be way better just getting Brave New World and not Gods & Kings? It seems BNW has more gameplay changes but I'm wondering if any depend somewhat on G&K. Also, I swear I saw BNW 33% off but now don't see it, was it a flash sale or something? Seems like I may have F'd up but I'm guessing it will come around again.

Also, Puzzle Quest II is 75% off and has been - is it worth waiting to see if it goes on a larger sale? The answer is probably no since it's $2.50 and so what could I save, $.50? But, I thought I'd ask since it seems one should always wait unless it's a flash/community/daily deal.

I don't generally like GTA style games, but I loved SR 3. It was the perfect mix of wacky and awesome. The storyline isn't very long and keeps you moving at a decent pace. I had a lot of fun with this game, I even went and played it through a 2nd time making difference choices.

I highly recommend FTL, XCOM, and The Walking Dead at -75%. I will gladly go into more details if anyone wants, but these games are all AMAZING games for full price, let alone -75%.
