Anyone picked up Alien Swarm yet? It's a free game put out by Valve themselves, bug hunting squad play/co-op type affair. I have yet to play it because the servers were too busy yesterday but am grabbing it now. Probably won't get a chance to play it until way later though.

played it a bit last night. Didnt really get what was going on other than the shooting, but it was pretty fun, definately worth the price

Hmm...reliving my freshman year in college is quite tempting. I wasted many hours on the dorm LAN with Doom II. Plus, never played Doom III, so it might be worth a purchase.

I think you can simulate the experience by turning out the lights, turning on only a flashlight, and using a jack-in-the-box to startle yourself.

I had a lot of fun playing doom 3 tbh, however this was only after enabling god-mode and flying thru levels chainsawing monsters apart with equal parts bloodlust and reckless abandon.

Doom 3 was probably the worst game I've ever played. Not in technical quality of course but in terms of fun.

To be fair though I read reviews so I rarely try a game that has a chance of being a total dud.

I went wild and bought a game for more than $10. Spent $25 on Fallout 3. Never played any of the Fallouts, but apparently this one is supposed to be great.

i'm not a big RPG guy, i had never played a fallout game before i bought 3 and i loved it...with the DLC i probably put in 70 or 80 hours of gameplay

Yeah, I'm not an RPG guy, either, but I couldn't ignore the reviews. Plus, it does seem like a pretty good mix of action/RPG, which works for me.

Have only just made it out of the Vault, so it's not too exciting yet, but I can see the potential. I'm trying to go for the smart, persuasive good guy path on my first go 'round.

a tetris-y puzzle game that influences music tracks. only 5 bucks, but only 6 tracks. Surprisingly fun and addictive imo.

That game is really hard. When they first came out I only played MI 1 & 3, never got my hands on two.
Wow, 2 took me so long to finish and I even had to use the walkthrough a couple of times. That game is ridiculous hard. I can't imagine how long it would have taken me in a time without Internet, I probably would not have been able to finish it (there is also not a word like Monkey Wrench (spoiler) in my native language, so that made it kinda unfair ^^)
