If I played the original half-life, is it still worth playing this version?

Tonight, I started Black Mesa and played until the security guard stopped helping me. I can't remember any of this in the original? Also the pre-story seemed way longer than I remember.

I played HL back in the day but not much. I was too scared actually. I enjoyed the experience, but it was new to me so can't really answer. The only downside were Xen levels which got remade afaik but I don't think it makes the game bad, it's a just a considerably weaker part.

All I remember about half life is fall damage and a crowbar

I know the story experience was God of War tier but I don't remember any of it.

Security guards and scientists help throughout the game, just like in the original. The original train introduction is the same as in black Mesa.

No complaints so far, it's really cool. Mostly playing Terra Invicta using the touch screen but messed around in Multiversus a little and the controls feel good. I got the cheapest model and put a Samsung pro micro SD card in for storage. Everything downloads and loads fast.

Not a fan either but not sure how you came to that conclusion in under 2 hours, unless it's just that the atmosphere is different. The combat is similar just way more grindy.

If it’s your first refund, they’re typically more lenient on the 2 hour thing.

yeah, I clocked sub 2 hours before the refund and that was enough to turn me off from the game completely - needlesly busy hud, mobile-style loging rewards, forced multiplayer and the combat just didn't feel good at all

not saying it's an inherently bad game or something, just not relevant to souls fans, despite what many people seem to say

I have a bunch of money around $300/£266 in my steam wallet I don't really have much interested in buying new games and all that so was wondering if any of you wanted to buy games at a 10% discounted rate. got Monster Sanctuary at the steam sale and it's been a blast. If you haven't heard of it, it's a combination of monster taming and metroidvania genres, which sounds a bit dumb on paper, but works brilliantly in this case - granted, that with a loose definition of metroidvania early gen pokemon games could qualify as such

The only other monster taming game I've ever played was gen1 pokemon as a kid and I remember it being a bit grindy and tedious, which I didnt mind at the time, but would be an issue now. Fortunately, Monster Sanctuary seems to be avoiding that problem so far.

I played Monster Sanctuary a while ago when it was on Game Pass (it may still be). The game starts out very good, but it sure turns into a slog when you get about 2/3 of the way in. I didn't end up finishing it.

Edited to add: the game is still on Game Pass, after all.
