I reserved one with steam money.

Not sure If I want to sell it on ebay or play super meat boy on my couch.
Sure, you can't play CSGO on it, but a lot more games are actually controller focused than 5 years ago.

Nice. I went with the Thinker which was a lot of fun, but I was never able to beat the uncomfortable chair boss, so I'd like to go back and do that. Alcoholic empath sounds like a ton of fun.

Giant update for MS Flight Simulator hit the servers today.

It took forever to download the update because of everyone banging on the servers.

Two quick comments:

1. Ugh. All the controller bindings have changed but I think for the better. I need to get use to them.

2. Damn, it loads everything so much faster! It's still slow but much faster than before.

I'm going through the training missions again to learn the new controls. They seem a bit expanded from the original game.

Okay these tutorials are hard... Especially if you want A's in all of them. They are way more extensive than the original game.

Oh, and the 2nd tutorial where you have to look at the wing tip needs to be completed with a keyboard and mouse only (turn off the controller). Seems to be a bug.

Never could head around sims, and reading this makes me think I never will.

I really hope you go for the whole setup Mark, maybe even rocking a uniform, or at least a captain's hat?

imo at that point ^^^ it goes from being fun to actual work that you should get paid for.

Or safer than getting into an actual plane.

In case you haven't fixed this yet, go into General Options. Under the Accessibility tab there is a setting for Cockpit (whatever). Change it from Locked to Legacy. It'll go back to being able to use the mouse as normal, but it doesn't have the percentages anymore. I'm hoping that gets put back in.

Reviews for The Ascent look impressive. May have to give it a go.

Edited to add: Just saw that it comes out, day one, on Game Pass. No reason to not give it a go now!

Is anyone playing Starbase? I had it on my wishlist for some reason and it just became available.

Thanks for the info. I'm growing use to the new controls. I use a steam controller and I've setup the gyro as the mouse.

I only used the the new controls for one flight and didn't like it. I was able to find a solution on Reddit. I have a Honeycomb Alpha, which is pretty nice. So, I use that with the keyboard and mouse. I'd like to get rudder pedals but I'm okay with what I have.

Game is definitely really fast now. I have had the game installed on its own SSD and I am in a flight within seconds now.

Do you use any addons like NeoFly? I've been getting more into that flying a C172. I'm slowly making my way down the east coast and will eventually try to get down to South America. I'd like to buy a faster plane eventually. I just learned how to combine missions with the market for some added income.

I used FSEconomy quite a bit but it doesn't work well with progression when someone can snatch a plane out from under you and then you have to load in somewhere else -- takes away some realism. I also don't like what they did with the TBM930. OnAir is alright but that requires a subscription. AirHauler 2 is pretty close to NeoFly. I've been looking at reviews for AH2 before I pay for it.

I've briefly heard about it and then forgot to look into it. I just checked out the website and it looks great!

I also haven't done any of the new challenge missions that MS has added. I need to get my butt moving.

Spent most of the day modding the **** out of KOTOR 1. Roughly 115 mods, patches, and resolution tweaks.

That feeling when you fire it up for the first time and it all works seamlessly?

Priceless.

Death's Door

Great reviews, fantastic artwork and soundtrack, unfortunately I'm just terrible at it and have no patience. Will have another shot at it tomorrow!

But why tho? What did the mods even do? I just had to tweek some config settings from a guide to get it to work. Has some issues but it was good enough for the time I played.

GRIME is out today, I think it might have been my first release day buy ever. The game is an indie soulslike metroidvania with stunning 2.5d visuals, if any of that sounds good you should definitely get it. So far I've only played it for like 1,5h, but I can already tell that it will likely be Blasphemous-level of awesome

Bugfixes, re-balancing, dialogue fixes and additions, complete HD graphic reworks of almost every visual in the game, HQ cinematics/cutscenes, true widescreen, KOTOR community patch (adds as much stuff as TSLRCM does for KOTOR 2), high poly effects, live cinematics on computer screens and rotating holographic signs, complete high-res rework of the Ebony Hawk interior, restores a bunch of cut characters, camera angle improvements, and countless other tweaks.

Most of the build is here: https://www.reddit.com/r/kotor/wiki/kotormodbuildfull

It’s definitely a lot, but holy hell it all seems worth it now. I’ve played KOTOR countless times, and this seriously feels like a different game. Never thought something from 2003 could look this crisp.

I’ve been reading through the Bane trilogy, same author as KOTOR. I’m fired up to get my Star Wars on.

Sounds sick. I'll look into it. I kinda tapered off on it but may fire it back up.

thanks for the links, I played Kotor just for an hour, then decided to wait for Apeiron and was sad to hear it was cancelled a few year ago. That gives me another hope.

Was hoping this wouldn't be the case after some time off, but it is. Unfortunate really because it was great in my first few play throughs. I ended up just looking at a guide for the best stats, and I'll just keep doing the last chapters from now on.

This is a longshot but has anyone played Colony Ship? This creator's first game, Age of Decadence, is one of my favorite rpgs; it's absolutely incredible. A large contributing factor for that was the post apocalyptic Roman setting however, whereas this game is on a colony ship which fled earth. I am not nearly as big of a fan of the sci-fi genre in general, and especially not being onboard a gigantic city-ship. On top of that, AoD was the most difficult rpg I've ever played, and I'm not sure if I'll have the patience for that difficulty in this setting. Was wondering if anyone has played and has an opinion.
