Yeah that’s the route I was thinking of going as well. Impossible to find quest that isn’t ridiculously overpriced atm tho.

A $200 Windows Mixed Reality Headset and an average gaming laptop (gtx 1050i) should play it fine. However with that said, I haven't tried it yet.

People always mention King's Quest, and neglect to name the actual best Sierra game fro that era, Quest for Glory. Shame.

Ugh. Next time, just say "Hey, here is a different game I love from that era!"

Looks like Moving Out will be the first game I've hundred percented in a long time. Have golded all levels and completed all memories and arcade levels. Just finishing up getting the coins on all levels. Have like 65/90.

Cannot figure out how to jump over the ****ing pool though. I'll be uber pissed if that's what keeps me from 100% because I know there is a trick and just cant figure it out.

And complete. 30 golds. 90 for 90 on achievements. That pool jumping one is a real *****.

I guess word on the street is that there are secret achievements too. So I need to find those now

For you roguelite fans, check out Fury Unleashed. It finally got out of early access last Friday, and I'm enjoying it a lot so far.

Haha how did you do it? There's a few different ways but in single player you have to be a bit more creative. We still made sure there was more than one way to do it in every mode though. We actually give away the easiest way to do it in one of the trailers but you need 3+ players.

Yeah there's a few secret ones. If you want to do everything then one of them is going to be a bit of a pain in the ass to be honest. That's awesome that you got all golds and 90 for 90. The game is pretty easy but we wanted to make the golds pretty tough so that's a good effort you got them so quick. We want to add platinum times in a future update that is mine and the other designer's best times.

edit: oh **** that was my 9999th post, I didn't realise :O

I grabbed the chair and set it up on the side of the pool and then jumped on it while it was falling in and just made it to the other side.

The golds were tough. There were more than a handful of restarts to get them. They certainly arent gimme times.

Loved the game man, cant wait for whatever you put out in the future.

Apparently GTA5 will be the next free game on Epic.

lol - I bought GTA5 in one of the fall sales. Oh well, it was only $10 and I made money off of it by writing an article about the casino.

That's a pretty great freebie, though. Looks like it's crashing the Epic store.

Just got through and am downloading it now.

Also for my "purchase" I received a $10 coupon as part of their summer sale promo. So even if you already have GTA5 it may be worth it to add it to your EGS library.

GTA 5 was the last game I bought at full price. Probably the only one in last 10 years or so? I think Skyrim was the previous one (11.11.11 never forget lol). It's so unlike me, also for the genre. I guess I feel attached because GTA 1 and the franchise was a big thing in my childhood/teens?

I'm not sure if I regret it, the single player was pretty fun, but the online experience... loading screen simulator. I hate that it never got fixed. And many more problems.

This, full stop.

Unlike any other GTA, I had a fun time playing the solo campaign and then stopped playing forever. It was like a Netflix movie-- I was entertained and relatively absorbed for the duration, but have zero desire to ever revisit it again. I was in no way compelled to complete the extra activities (UFO parts, etc.) either.

But man, GTA 2 or San Andreas? I played those until my discs turned into dust.

You were younger back then.

Of course nostalgia is a factor, but they were genuinely better single player experiences. Those games didn't have their interests split by trying to create a money-printing online component.

The "younger" argument only goes so far.

For me, its not nostalgia but instead when I had infinite free time and no responsibilities and limited money so ample time to play and replay the same game.

I arguably spend more time playing now than I ever did as a kid, game time was pretty restricted in my household growing up. But, I understand your point.

I think we can settle on a little of column A, little of column B.

Due to a bunch of unfortunate circumstances I'm pretty much in this position.

I've got ~30 new games installed and a bunch more on steam, but I find it very hard to get stuck into any of them. Normally just go back to Grim Dawn or Slay the Spire. Same with TV shows and books. I don't think it's really nostalgia I get here, more that it's guaranteed my 'safe space', where I know what I'm getting.

I definitely think the internet/smart phones/Netflix/etc. have had a detrimental effect on my concentration. There's a good phase I can't remember, but they've given us too much choice and, with that, the constant fear we're missing out on something better.

This probably explains it better - The Paradox of Choice

I agree with these general woes of modern, adult gaming.

But, specifically to GTA V, it is painfully clear that they actively cut or removed things from single player in order to "save" them for multiplayer. There are huge swaths of the map that are essentially empty, because they're solely intended for online play.

Re: Paradox of Choice, I have often said that I would prefer if there was simply 3 types of everything. An expensive version, middle of the road, and cheap-o. Anything else makes me feel like I'm wasting time discerning between them.

I haven't played GTA since Vice City, so I'm sure this will be quite the experience for me.

My kids each have Epic accounts so they can get the free games. I'm going to let them get GTA5, but my 11-year old is not allowed to play it. He's fine with it - I told him he should grab it just so he has it for the future. I doubt my 13-year old daughter has any interest.

That reminds me - I should break out the original GTA for PS1. I remember it freezing at a certain point, but it was also pretty damn fun.
