I mean, its described as a couch co-op game. Not sure what people were expecting.

Even a tiny bit of lag would make this a very frustrating game to play.

Well, I'm done! Celeste could be my favourite game ever. It's amazing on so many levels and there's so much content for _everybody_. I'm happy I can uninstall it though, the DLC was insane. Speedrunning techniques implemented in regular levels.

Steam reviews are horrible about people downvoting for non-gameplay reasons.

if anyone haven't played it, Child of Light is an absolutely fantastic game, one of my favourites of all times. It's a hand-drawn sidescroller RPG with a really beautiful story and very interesting mechanics (apparently it was copied from some other game, but I haven't played it, so for me it was very unique). Honestly, the game would be worth any prize to me, so should be a no brainer for free.

Any recommendations for games that are similar to XCOM and Banner Saga?
Tactical turn based combat strategy or however it is called.

I've been enjoying Gears Tactics and it's free with Game Pass. I quit XCom Chimera Squad after encountering a game ending bug in Ironman. Am supposed to clear 2 more waves of enemies and none ever come and literally nothing I can do about it, so tilting. Can a patch fix that or am I doomed?

ETA: Maybe I can have them kill each other

I've installed Gears Tactics but haven't had a chance to play it yet. General opinion seems to be that it is pretty good.

Another good turn-based tactical game is Battletech.

It's really fun so far. My son decided we needed to do the voice lines for our characters, so we served as our own voice actors. Naturally, I'm the toaster head (I don't know why I said "naturally." In fact, I should really be the koala, since that was my favorite animal as a kid). Timing couldn't have been more perfect for a couch co-op game.

Also, no shout-out to 2+2 in the credits.
You're the best! Thanks for all the love and support, really appreciated That's really funny about you doing the voices. A lot of playtesters were doing the same but then we added an Animal Crossing/Sims style gibberish in there for the voices and the playtesters stopped doing it so we took the gibberish back out.

There was supposed to be a shoutout to both the 2+2 stream thread and the wrestling forum but I have no idea how it got taken out. I'm adding it back in for the next patch

Yeah it's a pretty big boost, it was all regions as well which was massive. T17 pulled that off.

Haha no pizza boxes are not critical at all. That was my stupid way of saying Switch has some graphic "downgrades" but they are very minor. Being 30 fps doesn't really matter for this kind of game but I am a bit of a snob so I thought I'd bring it up.

We were predicting about 70-75 so it's above expectations which is great. Co-op games get very polarising reviews.

So this complaint has been a major pain in the ass. We started with online in mind but it was proving to be a huge amount of work and being a team of 8 with only 2 programmers we decided to focus on getting the game polished with more content over online. We've had so many comments calling us lazy devs, money hungry because "we're obv going to have it in the sequel", idiots for not having online for covid etc etc like people think it's some easy feature you can just check a box and it's added. 4 player physics co-op game is a pain in the ass to have stable online. Overcooked 2 is grid based, it's a completely different story.

A lot of the negative reviews were from Chinese players because Steam Remote Play is not available there. T17 contacted Valve though and had a lot of them removed because they are complaining about the game not having a feature that we never advertised. From day one since launch we've said local only. Also who the **** buys a game without checking that first? It's not really worrying us though, once the initial wave of people complaining about no online is over we're confident it's going to have a positive rating.

Thanks for all the love guys, it's been a crazy week. Went into EB games and bought my own game off the shelf, that was a crazy feeling.

My son is fascinated by voice artists and wants to figure out how to get into it. We bought PvZ Garden Warfare: Battle for Neighborville this weekend ($10 on Origin) and he was even commenting how much he loves the voices when they are just gibberish.

I tried getting back into Dead Cells. Seriously, I don't know what's wrong. It's a roguelike with all these secrets and unlocks, smooth gameplay, I've done these things many times and I still love it often going for 100% completion. The game has 96% positive reviews and 43k total! It'd have expected no less than 100 hours out of it. Instead, I've had mediocre 4 hours, initial 2 hours was great, now I can't force myself to play it. What's wrong? It's seriously baffling me.

That’s my fav genre and I can’t get into it either. I think I don’t like the rng with no level design or maybe the combat gets way more interesting as you unlock stuff or Smth. I owned it in early access and gave up after a few hours, came back to it after full release and it couldn’t hold my interest.

congrats elkabong

Most people buying your game (or anything for that matter really) never seen any gameplay footage before much less have any idea on what features it has or not. Online is generally assumed to be available these days. (not defending those idiots just explaining it)

We also have an internet culture that gets very hostile when something isn't perfect. It's a bunch of, well for lack of a better term, karen's wanting to see the manager.

I was that way for a while too. I eventually got into it a bit more, but never like other people. I hated that many permanent unlocks actually made the game harder because you'd unlock some bad weapon, which made your odds of getting a good weapon much lower. I think the first weapon I unlocked was the sandals. Yeah, what a starting great weapon for someone new to the game.

The best most worthwhile permaupgrades (the forge upgrades) just required so much that it wasn't ever going to happen for me.

I eventually just turned off some of my least-favorite weapons once I unlocked custom mode, which helped my enjoyment a bit, but I never did like it as much as I would have expected based on other people's love of it.

Yeah, if I was looking at game like this I'd definitely assume it will have online features. (Of course, I might read the description and find out it doesn't, but I'd imagine people who just buy games without much thinking are the ideal customers who often won't even end up playing the game.)

Ah yes, King's Quest, which has what is regarded by some as the most difficult video game puzzle of all time.

King's Quest VI: Heir Today, Gone Tomorrow was one of my favorite games when I was younger. My dad, older brother, and I would play it into the wee hours of the morning. Other favorites from that era were Return To Zork, Myst, and the original Need For Speed.
