Why is Sim's 4 with no expansions a 13gb download?!?!?

You mainly just decorate and then hang around your house. idk, so far the game puts me to sleep.

BTW, I assume most of you already know this but just in case...

The ability to run windows in a lower resolution than your desktop is an awesome feature for a ton of older (and newer) games. I really hate going full screen at a lower resolution and having it screw up my browsers, email etc window sizes. Also it avoids the tiny text and user interface problems when at native resolution.

Just make a shortcut to the game, and go to properties->compatibility->Change High DPI Settings and set it to 'System' instead of Application.

It's a must for me to play Sim's 4.

Pcgamingwiki says that there is a uiscale config setting that you can manually edit.

DRM-free download (not a Steam key) of Jalopy is free on Humble Bundle. You can buy the Steam version for $1 afterwards if you want.

Rime is a pretty fun puzzle adventure. A little frustrating at times but not too bad.

I recommend the game.

Thanks for this tip - I just opened Kerbal Space Program for the first time in 4k and their UI scaling is pretty bad (fonts in the orbital map are not scaled up and are unreadable). Doing this in Windows instead made it much better.

The latest Kerbal does try to address the scaling in settings but it's still a pita. BTW, the new KSP expansion comes out next week (May 30th). It adds a ton of new stuff like robotics, rotary parts, new science items, unique planetary features and more.

Last months free update added a built-in Delta-V calculator and better maneuver node handling. The only big mod I use now is to put clouds around Kerbin.

The Surviving Mars terrarforming DLC Green Mars is pretty clearly unfinished and will need significant rework in patches and updates to be worthwhile, it's like a proof of concept.

That there's no feedback loop for the terraforming just like, global bonus at 25/50/etc. percent for each category is some **** a mod would try to get away with.

How is the base game/other expansions? I keep seeing it on the front page of Steam and get to urge to buy it but never pull the trigger.

The base game is a lot of fun if you like slow paced city builders with a fair degree of micromanagement(it's pretty much Tropico In Space) and a lot of fun ideas(randomized tech tree makes every playthrough different, different faction buffs meaningfully change the way you play early on, the game is legitimately quite difficult even with favorable starting conditions, etc), but there's really no endgame, which this DLC was supposed to fix.

Now there's an endgame which itself has no endgame, endlessly discursive Paradox Studios bull****.

The other DLCs are completely bull**** and can be ignored. They seem to know that, because when Green Mars came out the Season Pass was only like 3 bucks more than just Green Mars.

The base game is a solid $10/$15 purchase imo, you'll get upset at **** like what I wrote above and various other issues but only after like 3 or 4 playthroughs, the feedback loop of expanding to get more resources so you can expand to get more resources is a tried and true formula.

Thanks. Found it for $20 for base game + season pass so decided to pick it up.

They made a lot of qualify of life improvements to the UI without a major overhaul and so they are often buried in tooltips and otherwise undocumented, hover over all the buttons.

Something else underdocumented, the trades you can do with other colonies need your own rocket, but the trading pad you can build is an entirely different system where they use their rockets and you can solicit a big variety of swaps, it's absolutely critical building.

Wow, this has been on my wishlist for awhile. I loved the Myst games and I haven't bought this one out of laziness and a large backlog.

Thanks!

Just finished Snake Pass a week ago. Frustrating at first, but once you get a hand of it very fun game. 100% it of course.

Glad you could snag it. Saw it and googled. Looks really cool but not something I'd have time to get into so let it be. Nice that a reg can be stoked on it way more than I would've.

Exact same thing happened to me. I signed up for AC: Origins and then thought I'd paused. Now I've paid for COD and IDGAF about COD.
