Now look what you guys did!

"Forager" has been added to this months Humble Monthly!

A quick $8 off of the list price.

Edit: Oops... Wrong. It was a misleading email title from HB: "Additional game added to Humble Monthly! Forager fully released and more from Humble"

Annos are city builders like Tropico or Cities: Skylines. Personally I find the games pretty dull and have never launched the games again after the initial tries. Before buying I'd probably recommend checking out some let's plays.

I'm a fan of Cities: Skylines but you should know most "let's play" videos are edited and probably over 70% of the play time is waiting for money and routing traffic.

Most of the rest is the game paused as you zone a new district or go around the city looking for why something isn't working.

It's not truly a city builder the way those are, it's more about an economy and transit system builder where you have to build a city to provide workers. I haven't played 1800 but I played several of the previous ones and really enjoyed 1701.

If you like Factorio, you'll like Anno, it's about turning raw materials into finished products with maximum efficiency. There's almost no combat.

Imperator: Rome, the latest grand strategy game from Paradox is out. Looking forward to putting a ton of hours into it this weekend.

A bunch of beginners tips: https://www.reddit.com/r/Imperator/c...100_hours_now/

Nah man, I'm going in totally blind. The fun part is the learning curve.

I stopped reading there.

"Play" videos make the game look like a DLC (very lacking in historical accuracy department) for an unholy union between CKII and EU4.

That could be a recipe for disaster or greatness. Who knows.

Hmm. I love EU (obviously) but was never able to get into CK. Not sure if I'd like this game or not.

I've been on 2+2 too long. The Xfinity streaming app on my phone is called "Stream" and I ended up opening that when I intended to open the Steam app.

Valve should sue xfinity for using their trademark.

Again got charged for Humble Monthly because I forgot, jesus.

edit: got charged for 3 months. ****. when I got the promo with Overwatch to buy 3 months and pay for 2 I guess they knew what they were doing...
edit2: and ****ers won't let me remove my payment method even though I got credits for 2 months now because it'll automatically unsubscribe me

They're definitely ****ers for making you forget.

no, it's not their fault I forgot but they also made now the whole thing super convoluted, it's difficult to see your sub, you get 5 confirmations if you want to pause and **** like that I'm unable to remove my payment because they'd cancel my sub, what the hell is this, I paid so let me remove the payment method and let my subscription drop!

you seem quite condenscending mate.

The irony is blinding.

I only responded snidely because you're kind of a dick ITT, mash.

Edit: Btw, Forager is awesome and I'm mad at MinusEV for suggesting this wonderful time sink

For anyone picking up Cities: Skylines, do yourself and get Traffic Manager. It gives you the tools necessary to make AI drivers about 99% less stupid.

Surely cancelling your sub doesn't mean they'll cancel the period you've already paid for though? If so, that has to be against any reasonable consumer laws?

Mash is generally the guy that participates in this thread the most, gives people a heads-up when there are sales, suggests new games, etc. I haven't seen any kind of dick-ish behavior can be attributed to him. Not sure why it is necessary to take shots at people in the video game thread.

100% agree with you. Mash is awesome.

Mash, I have no real advice but how did you not cancel when you got commited to this months stuff???

Send them an email and try cancelling. Since the new month hasn't even started yet.

Thanks. I somehow forgot, had a lot going on and I thought I have time, didn't want to lose the perks as they introduce new games to the trove a few days later usually?

Yeah I don't think an e-mail is going to work as I already forgot to cancel a month with my previous credit so they said then that it's a one time gesture and they rolled back. With the new payment cycle (not sure if it's new or always been that way) they charge a week earlier than the big reveal of all the games.

It's a $35 lesson or whatever, I'll set up proper reminders now like I do for the vital parts of life . Just wanted to rant and I'm done!

There are threads on the internet where people were:
1) charged for the yearly plan even though they were month-to-month before
2) charged despite pausing

so it's not so bad in my case especially compared to the first scenario.

Yes, this.

They will often word it somewhat ambiguously to sound a bit like it might though in order to dissuade you (not specifically Humble, just "sub cancelling" in general)

This isn't really Stream, but it's free.

Gone Home is available in Humble Bundle's Trove, whether you're a monthly subscriber or not.

DRM-free download for Windows, Mac and Linux. Free until 5/3

Just make a calendar reminder for 2 months from now so you don't forget to cancel.
