One envelope says "don't open until instructed" and the other is "issue 2" of Trash World News (the "hacker zine") which says not to open until you unlock it in-game.

LOL. This makes me think of The Dark Brotherhood visiting in the middle of the night in Oblivion. Sounds exciting

Decided to give the EA Origin premium a try just so I can play Madden for a month for $15.

Really had the urge to play it, but every time I buy it I'm usually done with it after a month or 2 anyway, do will probably end up saving $$.

Some people in the thread used to love it some months or maybe even years ago. Yesterday Dead Cells got released:

I just got my Exapunks key (from pre-order) e-mailed via Humble Bundle - anyone else pre-order? Is the game actually unlocked yet? Steam store says Aug 9 but I can't actually load Steam to check from work if I can download yet.

so, uh, how's the new game? Is it a carbon copy of shenzen io or TIS? Is there more to it than just "solve assembly logic puzzle in fewest cycles"?

It's a variant of "solve assembly logic puzzle in fewest cycles*", and in the time I've spent with it so far it feels more fun than Shenzhen or TIS. In particular, both of those games had strong limiting factors in size (TIS had, like, 10 instructions per node or whatever, Shenzhen had limited instructions per controller AND sometimes squeezing too many parts into too small a space), and this game is like "whatever, make a ton of programs, make them 50 lines each, you do you" while still being challenging and fun.

*fewest cycles is, of course, optional, but half the fun!

I enjoyed it the 4 or so hours I played it, but I ended up getting stuck on a puzzle I was 100% sure was because of my crappy laptop not showing the graphics 100%, so I'll be trying it over soon when I get a new laptop.

Goofy said it well. I think they took a lot of the ideas in Schenzen and polished them. I usually float around the average in terms of cycle count and instructions, it's a bit easier for me. Like Goofy said, you have more options in how to come to your own solution. The constraints in the other games have an interesting purpose, but I sometimes found the frustration dealing with them outweighed a desire to progress.

I'm having fun with Exapunk so far. Only played through about 10 or so missions before going back to start optimising things though. Currently goofy is the only person with the game on my friends list but it would be cool to have a friendly competition similar to what we did with inifinifactory a while back.

My steam profile is http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198046341706/ if anyone with the game wants to add me.

Exapunks seems like the GOAT Zachtronics game so far, idk why more people aren't playing it. I'm finding it really hard to put down, as opposed to TIS/Shenzhen where problems often got difficult enough that I'd hit a really hard mission and kinda get sick of banging my head against a wall and take a break for a bit. Even the solitaire-ish minigame is really fun. And there's a level called "Snaxnet" where you write a virus to infiltrate a nuclear facility and shut down centrifuges run by a snack company, which is such a funny yet terrible joke that it's worth the $20 on its own.

An interesting game called Orwell is currently free on HB while supplies last:

For anybody who read 1984 knows obviously that it's a great concept but the game itself has really good reviews and is quite popular:

The party packs contain a lot more and I know for sure Drawful 2 is only stand-alone. I’d probably get this bundle if I didn’t already own them all, as long as you have a way to play with a group.
