Paypal is offering $5 off of $30 when used on Steam.

Slickdeals thread for the deal

edit: I activated the deal then added $30 credit to my Steam account with Paypal and Paypal auto-applied the $5 savings.

How to add any amount to a Steam account

I've never had a computer that could handle 2+ party POE or lvl >50 POE. The graphics settings and 'throwup of random monsters' level design choices were quite bad in my opinion.

Highly recommend Celeste to anyone that hasn't played Celeste.

Also thanks for posting that hack to add to wallet instead of buying games to save the $5...already bought what I wanted this sale when I first saw that offer and was thinking I was gonna have to do some sort of refund shuffle

That paypal.com link has no details, does this apply if you pay inside Steam using Paypal on at least $30, or add at least $30 to your Steam wallet inside Steam from Paypal through the 30th, or do you have to log in to your Paypal account and activate it through the website? I'd just check but I don't remember where I wrote down my Paypal password

I clicked the direct paypal link he posted. After you login it'll prompt you to active the deal. When you pay using paypal on steam after that its automatically applied.

Sorry weevil, that was my fault for lack of directions. Initially, I just posted the slickdeal link which has long convoluted instructions within the thread. I then added the latter two links but without adding any instructions. I hope you got it worked out.

can anyone tell me if age of empires 2 hd and age of empires definite edition are the same thing?

They are different. AoE2 HD is exactly the same as the original AoE2 game but with high-res textures (and has since had new expansions). AoE definitive edition is a remake of the original Age of Empires (i.e. the first AoE, not AoE2), which I believe has been completely remade from the ground up, not just had high-res textures added.

thanks. used to play warcraft III back in the day and was looking for a newish RTS. don't really know which one of these two to choose though.

To be honest, as much as AoE2 was a game that defined a large part of my childhood, I struggle to play it nowadays because it feels dated after having played newer games. I don't know much about definitive edition but I do know that I vastly preferred AoE2 over the original. Without having played it it's hard to know how much the complete remake would change that though, since my main recollection (baring in mind it's ~20 years since I played the original) is that my main issues with AoE were UI/control awkwardness.

Since you mention that you're looking for a newish RTS then I'd probably suggest Starcraft 2. Whilst AoE2 HD and AoE definitive edition are newish releases, the original releases of the games are actually older than WC3.

Starcraft 2 is free now.

I think it's free, but won't have access to the online coop missions and the expansions campaign. But online arcade/ladder is available. At least, that was my understanding.

It very well could be that and I don't have any info to refute this. But regardless I figure most play online primarily. But regardless it's still a solid snag either way!

Yah, if you're just interested in laddering, then it's all free. If you want the cool co-op and campaigns, then you gotta pay.

Laddering is all everyone wants anyways, except the casuals.

Anyone know anything about Transport Fever? https://store.steampowered.com/app/4...ansport_Fever/

(I could swear I've asked about this game/genre in here before, but searching for numerous key words I can't find it)

One of my favorite parts of Cities: Skylines was trying to design road systems to ease traffic jams - Train Valley was an interesting transport puzzler in a similar vein, as well. Curious what other games are like that.

I own the first starcraft 2. Heart of the swarm I think. Didn't really enjoy it like I enjoyed warcraft though. Just bought and played some matches of aoe2 HD and it was awesome. Gave me some nostalgia feels since I used to play it as a kid and now I'm trying not to suck at it that much.

Wololo!
