The graphics & UI are also ugly.

I do believe I would enjoy turn-based version of the game though.
The Pause button is the "turn button" I personally enjoy the brutally unforgiving learning curve. I have yet to beat even the 1st map, but I feel I learn something valuable with every run.

I see Crusader Kings II is on sale for $10 at HumbleBundle (Doesn't include any DLC)

I jumped on it. I hope all the positive buzz is true...

Are there any car demolition games on steam with a bomb tag mode?

I have Demolition Derby for the N64 and it was the funniest thing. You enter an arena and the person with the most points wins. You get like 100 points or something for being the survivor, but the catch is you can rack up 1000+ points by holding the bomb a lot. The bomb timer starts out high, and every time the bomb is passed it resets. As the round progresses though the timer gets shorter and shorter. The strategy is to get the bomb and avoid everyone else at the beginning. There reaches a point where it is no longer optimal to hold the bomb and instead of trying to get it everyone starts to run away from you. If you can't hit someone you die. There were NPC's but you could also play with up to four players.

Duuuuuuuuuuude, Demolition Derby for N64 was absolute GOAT

Edit: Wow, this has really blown my nostalgic mind. Crazy that there is literally only person I could reminisce about playing DD with-- my little brother, and he's dead. Ugh, life's a *****.

I've never heard of Demolition Derby (just Destruction Derby on PC in 90s) but that sounds incredibly fun, they should revive that as a multiplayer title

Sorry to hear that. Happy I could dig up some good memories for you though. I first played it with my bro so long ago I don't even know. I bought it a few years ago and played it a few times with my bro and his friends.

I tried finding a similar bomb tag mode in games like the one mashxx mentioned, but yet to find anything...

Yeah, it feels like that mode would be perfect for the new Carmageddon, Next Car Game: Wreckfest, or BeamNG.drive. I just checked up on the two latter games and it looks like they're falling victim to Early Access thumb-twiddling.

That was the game actually. I admittedly had been calling it wrong presumably for years lol.

I got hit in the feels by Jish's post but also makes me realize how much I appreciate those kinds of memories or having the ability to have ever felt those kinds of things.

I felt pretty confident it was Demolition Derby 64, but yeah it's Destruction Derby 64. I tried checking my copy, but it seems to have gone missing, along with my best two controllers and super smash...

was just poking around steam, found I think the oldest purchase I made was 3/2004

crazy to think it's been around over 14 years, going on 15 in September

I've used Steam since January 2003 when it was in beta and required for Counterstrike 1.6

Steam officially launched September 12, 2003. Guess it took me a couple days to log on since my account date is Sept. 14, 2003. Shows my first game purchase was Sept. 15 (Half-life and its expansions) but I obviously already owned them.

First actual purchase was probably Half-Life 2 since I don't think there was anything on Steam to buy before HL2 unless you didn't own the original for some reason.

They are billions really does a great job of walking that fine line of being challenging enough to be interesting, yet not so frustrating when I lose to make me rage quit.

Every loss teaches me a lesson that I just have to incorporate into my next play through.

I was wondering if the guy from this threat bought the base game (I assume it was you.). Pity the bundle came right after.

The bundle is pretty good at all 3 tiers.

Let's all appreciate the unbelievably ****ty luck Mark here had given less than a week later than $10 would've got him the DLC, HOI3, Pillars of Eternity, EU3, and some other stuff

That mid tier of 4 good games for $7 is a monster, hearkens back to the good old days before bundles and Steam sales had populated all of our backlogs.

I don’t think Pillars has been less than what, $12? That’s what I got it for when I forgot to cancel my Humble monthly for a month.
