lol, this game comes out right when I'm almost finished with TIS-100. I'm currently on the sort challenge near the end.

Infinifactory on the other hand... I got a lot of work to do there.

Random note from early on: the solitaire-type game in this is actually fairly fun on its own.

Game is cool from the tutorial and early levels but I hit a wall at the end of the first section where I was like "bleh don't want to do this right now" - that happened to me in SpaceChem too when I hit a puzzle that was less algorithm design and more shuttling pieces around. We'll see if I get over it.

Zachtronics games are the best games in which I spent just an hour.

Steam Link question...does it basically just stream your computer? So like, if my laptop can't handle a game, this won't improve the performance? True or false?

True.

Shouldn't have been performance related because looking on my laptop screen the game was still running full-speed and looking same as always, so either my TV doesn't have enough power to do this well (quite possible!) or my wifi connection is poor (also possible but idk if I care enough to debug that to infinity).
Sounds like we have a similar Samsung. I got mine up and running and it's cool how you can plug a wired controller directly into the TV but the lag was unbearable. It would be cool for something like Civ but Rocket League or fighting games etc would be impossible to play properly.

Mine also looked like crap and it wasn't because 1080p was being upscaled. It looked much worse than other 1080p content I play on there.

Yeah, same, I doubt I can even tell the difference between 1080p and 4k when watching video content.

I have my Steamlink hardwired and it works pretty well. I played through Dark Souls III without any issues and never noticed any lag. I can imagine that Wifi is hit-or-miss depending on the reliability of your connection though. Packet loss is probably a bigger impediment than bandwidth.

Make sure your TV has Game Mode turned on (or whatever the feature is called on your TV). Many modern TVs have terrible input lag due to all the processing that they do on the picture by default.

It’s only noticeable at farther distances

I'm running a wired connection and have it on game mode. One of the main reasons I went with the TV I got was because it had really low lag, I spent a long time in the settings when I first got it.

We're not running a Steamlink though, we're running a Steam app through the TV that functions like a Steamlink. Might be a difference in performance.

I have Grim Fandango on my wishlist.

Which means I might have to decide between that and Costume Quest for my Halloween gaming.

I'd like Grim Fandango if you've still got it. Always wanted to play it back in the day.

I use it all the time. Playing Witcher 3 on my living room TV with no issues, been great. The ability to minimize big picture mode and use it as a dead simple remote desktop to my PC is a huge selling point too.

Hoping for decent Nier: Automata discount. The game looks great, but I was busy when it was released so I didn't pick it up back then.
