Bought it too, agree with the assessment but it doesn't seem like a game that I want to play with a controller.

I use this as my catch all vg thread, so if you don't have ps4 feel free to ignore this.

Newegg has Destiny and PES15 for ps4 for $20 with a $20 MIR (free after MIR) today and tomorrow.

Not sure if Destiny is good or not, but I guess if you don't have either, getting free physical discs is quite rare

They've had variations of this deal a few times. I guess the caveat is that Destiny is pretty bare bones without the Taken King add-on, but if you don't mind waiting for a MIR, it is 2 games for free.

Gungeon looks good but I was thinking about getting it for my PS4 - why do people say controller is no good? I figured it would benefit from twin sticks versus mouse and keyboard but I don't have a lot of experience with either in this sort of game. Is it similar to say Hotline Miami gameplay wise?

I'm not familiar with Hotline Miami, gameplay wise Gungeon is a lot like Binding of Isaac, the controls are basically like a FPS. You move using WASD and the mouse controls a cross-hair that you shoot at.

binding of isaac with controller works perfectly cause u shoot in 4 directions only.
gungeon looks like nuclear throne where u can shoot everywhere, and personnaly couldnt play with gamepad in throne as its way to slow to aim.

HunieCam Studio is pretty disappointing. Basically just a clicker game and a pretty boring one at that. I had high hopes that they could make a fun game considering how good HuniePop was and that running a camgirl operation is a good idea for a game, but this is a really poor effort.

It's cheap enough that I don't feel cheated but still - save your money imo.

Going out on a limb, but this was implied by the title's name imo

The new Humble Bundle looks nice. Telltale Games.

$1 level: Back to the Future: The Game, Sam & Max: Devil's Playhouse, Poker Night at the Inventory, Puzzle Agent 1 & 2, The Walking Dead Season 1

Beat the Average (currently $6.78) level: The Walking Dead: 400 Days, The Wolf Among Us, Poker Night 2, Tales from the Borderlands, more to come.

$12 level: Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead Season 2

Yeah don't care so much for got, and finished wd s2, but I haven't completed wolf or even started playing borderlands so I'll probably end up picking up that second level.

Wow, Renowned Explorers: International Society is indeed a pleasant surprise. Not only I like the cartoony aesthetic, it also seems rather challenging with great depth (maybe like FTL?) and relaxing and fun at the same time. It's been just an hour but I have a feeling I'll keep playing it.

I just read a thread on the ARK forum about the updates. So far no one knows what's going on. Someone mentioned it could be related to Direct X.

I haven't gotten an update for any game yet.

Their was an update that deleted all the redundant redistributable files (directX, etc.) from the individual game installs. Then there appeared to be an error and Steam is now redownloading all the redistribuable files for the games that used them.

study finds 37% of steam purchases are never played

thought it'd be higher

Only counting games I've played for at least an hour, 2/3 of my library is unplayed. Counting games I've played at all is about 1/2.

Hmm, I wonder how that accounts for bundles and 3rd party sales.

If bundles were excluded, the number sounds reasonable as people stock up during sales.

"Played" is also tough to quantify with so many people simply idling for cards.

Actually thought that would be a little lower. Generally if you buy a game on steam you'll want to play it right away.
Library probably like 10 or lower. So many bundles/free game giveaways that are out there for card idling.

There's also a ton of games that were released before steam kept track of playtime that are factored in there.

i just spent an absurd amount of money on a gaming pc (in anticipation of my oculus rift arriving) but i'm pretty concerned that i will not use it enough to justify it.

so with that said, can you guys recommend some great games from the last 10 years? i guess the more recent the better so i can get the full benefit of the GPU. i've been playing a bit of xbox 360 in that time (mainly modern warfare games / gta 5) but i haven't gamed on the pc properly in a long long time. are there any sort of GOAT new strategy games akin to age of empires 2, or should i just grab the HD steam version of that?

also, if there's any sort of really great platform/puzzle games that my girlfriend would like, that would be great. she is a big pikmin fan and she will love lucky's tale on the rift i'm sure.

thanks!

HD AOE2 still holds up well IMO. Not gonna get the full use of your rig obviously but it's still a fantastic game
