Horse has auto run tho.

Had one of my first "oh wow" moments last night unlocking a shrine. It's the one in the stormy area that is

Spoiler:
completely covered, and a nearby minstrel mentions calling down the thunder of the gods.

Standing atop the mound and holding a metal weapon did indeed open the shrine when I got killed by lightning. I assumed this was because I had too few hearts to withstand the blast.

Alternative method was to hold a sword s it started sparking and the chuck it on the ground a split second before lightning hit. Gave me just enough time to run away and not get electro-murdered while also opening up the shrine.

My reward? Rubber pants.

I found that one very satisfying to unlock too. I didn't die because I had a lot of hearts but I assume you could also set a weapon down and head for cover.

I was going to old off buying the pro controller until the price came down but found one today for $44 total on Amazon so I couldn't pass it up. I'll be curious to see how it plays since I'm normally more of a PlayStation controller type of guy.

I've looked up a couple shrines due to laziness and lack of patience but not for the divine beasts because I enjoyed figuring them out

On spring break finally, just picked up a wii u. Got the very last copy of the game at gamestop.Downloading updates now. My old roommate apparently jacked my gamecube controllers so I have to play on this goofy ass tv screen controller but it's surprisingly comfy so oh well.

My body is ready.

Wii U tablet is clutch for some fights. No way to move the cursor fast enough in some situations.
Spoiler:
*cough zora boss fight cough*
Incidentally, is the reward from the Zora dungeon reusable? Or just one and done? Would be nice to have on a long cooldown.

Amazing dungeon imo. Got so close to frustrated enough that I almost looked up what to do, but eventually figured it all out. Boss got a few big hits on me, but arrows chewed off his life well enough. Plenty of shock arrows to spare since they make you come in with 20.

Wow i just played for 5 hours straight. Cant remember the last time I did that with a game. Stopped after impa. Like this game a lot so far. Weapon breakage is off the charts annoying, hope it gets better. But at the same time, i like that I have limited resources.

Do the controls feel clunky to anyone else or have i just been away from consoles for a while?

I thought the controls were clunky for the first 5-10 hrs (wii U, also long layoff), but I got used to them. I like the controls. never got over picking the wrong menu, though.

weapons last a lot longer after you get past the early parts

you will never run out of good weapons but don't get too attached to anything

I liked the controls once I selected the option to make B jump

I can't think of a good reason for why you can't sell weapons. I don't think it would break anything and would be a good way to farm money/free your inventory.

I got the Hyrulian Shield last night, really cool finding it the way I did. Was just exploring *spoiler* and then found myself in a crazy situation and was rewarded with the shield.

Smash Bros is the only Wii U game that supports gamecube controllers, wouldn't have been able to use them anyway.

The old dude at Zora can repair it if it breaks.

This. Lack of weapons isn't a problem once you progress, stronger weapons last longer and you're always coming across them. Inventory space becomes the annoyance.

Have finished two beasts (eagle and elephant) and pretty much know exactly where, geographically, the other two are when I get tired of running around doing random stuff. I only have one remaining tower to unlock and I know where that is as well.

Now that I cannot be harmed by the cold, I find it endlessly amusing to go hunt down like moose and rhinos in the mountains. One of those random things that really amuses me but I can't say why.

I have the master sword and took down my first Hinox. Still running like a sissy from Lionels, anything with electrical weapons gives me fits. Three great fairies found. Couple of random riddles from NPCs to solve. Good times being had.

I was the same with Lynels until I actually fought one and now I hunt them down. My advice is to glide in and bombard them with arrows, then stay as close as possible to them so they don't use their arrows. Their melee attacks are pretty easy to dodge once you get the timing right.

Thanks, I'll try that.

Is anyone else basically ignoring the horses? I have one (I named him Wilbur) but I'm perfectly content to run everywhere, seems like the best way to find supplies and all the little things hidden away.

Yeah horses for me have only been necessary in a few situations after the early game. Once you get all the towers and a few scattered shrines they kinda become obsolete.

Upgraded clothes make a huge difference in combat. I used to be unable to beat Lynels, now I farm them with no particular strategy.

Horses help in fights when you still need to avoid damage. Other than that they're not very useful but it's fun to try to take them to places they really shouldnt be. My horses die a lot.
