I really don't remember the pro controlling being this uncomfortable. Probably doesn't help that the mapping accentuates it. Not really a way to run and jump at the same time, huh?

Im thinking the same thing, after becoming so accustomed to the Ps4 and Xbox controllers, The pro rates a distant third. I may change my mind after a few dozen hours, but I really hate the right hand side button placement, especially with the Zelda configuration

Not really sure why the pro controller is even a thing. Seems the joycon controller does the job just fine.

I think they're talking about the old WiiU pro controller? Noodle certainly is.

I'm not a fan of the joycons at all, the sticks and buttons are too small and there's no dpad. The sticks are especially bad since you have what seems like less than half the motion. They're ok for handheld mode even though it's a little uncomfortable but a pro controller is a far better alternative if you're playing on the couch. If someone finds a way to put Xbone sticks on joycons like you can on a DS4 then I'll be all over it.

I think kotaku did some non-scientific analysis that found coworkers with 6.5" and shorter length of hands liked the joy cons, but any longer-handed folk didn't.

But yes, I was indeed talking about the Wii U one, as Dave points out.

Is this a joy-con/small penis joke?

I'm guessing stamina upgrades should not totally be neglected in this game. I am trying to climb a tower now that either I am just a tad short on stamina or I can possibly make the ledge by jumping up at the last sliver of stamina to make the ledge.

They definitely do not tell which direction you should go so I'm guessing the 4 dungeons can be played in any order? So much to do in this game...it's been great so far imo even with some of peoples' small gripes from what I have read.

I prioritised stamina over health. Once you get armour, food and skills then health isn't that important.

I don't have big hands, I just think the design is uncomfortable. I also didn't like the 3DS XL and needed to buy a grip to play it. The buttons on the joycons are about the same size as 3DS fwiw.

Fun fact,

If you jump while in the red zone of your stamina, link jumps about 1.5 times higher than his normal jump when you are in the green

Anyone else kind of feel that the shrine locator is sort of meh going off while you are still pretty far away?

I knocked out 4 shrines during lunch to bump my stamina a notch. I've been collecting a bunch of stuff and have no clue on what to mix/cook or sell. There have been some weird machinery type items too. I think I'll hold on to those and only sell topaz type items.

From the towers it appears that other towers aren't so far away until you mark it and then look at your map lol.

Stamina is by far the better upgrade, since it's a hard limit on "fun" - places you can climb/glide/swim to etc. As mentioned low health is more easily made up for by items, and more stamina = less frequent annoyance.

No. You can use the switch screenshot feature to build up your own makeshift recipe book is a solid idea.

you don't really need to remember recipes, since everything works

for foods, combine as many effect ingredients as you want with optional hearts or duration ingredients

don't combine more than one effect

don't use more than one of the same duration ingredient

I did it the other way around, and I agree and regret it. Now I'm a little more than halfway through and doing stamina for the reasons you mentioned.

I did all hearts until I got the master sword because I didn't know you could redistribute later

it didn't hold me back too much but stamina is definitely the way to go

I'm doing one stamina to every three hearts or so. I haven't found any place yet I haven't been able to climb if you take the right route, although I think I did need a stamina potion one time. But as I'm pretty sure I'll persist to find every shrine, I'll max out hearts and stamina anyway, I assume. Only 98 more to go!

At the moment I'm back tracking to stables I've already found so I can find the memories from the painter dude. I unlocked three (plus the Zora one, but that wasn't tied to a photo) and stamped a fourth I got the location of before I quit to go to work. The first clue I got was an absolute ***** to find, tho. Although I doubt I'll try to find all 900 Korok seeds.

I've basically abandoned the main story line right now in favor of running around like a nut job trying to find random ****. I cannot stress enough how much fun I'm finding that.

Also my tiny little hands have no problem with either the Wii U or Switch pro controllers, nor my PS 4 controller. The only thing that annoys me currently is accidentally taking a screen shot when I'm going for the map, which I'd estimate I do about a quarter of the time.

Yeah nobody is spoil tagging anything in this thread, it's pretty awful. Good thing I've done everything sans the final boss so it isn't bad for me.
