Helluva price if I have my notions of exchange rate right. HD is a little slow, but that will help improve battery life. Excellent CPU and vid card.

If the OS is Vista 32, you may want to get 3 gigs of RAM, and if Vista 64, you may want to get 4 gigs. Vista takes a huge amount of memory just to sit around doing nothing.

Yes, the 5400 rpm HDD will not load games quite as quickly, but it will improve your battery life otherwise. I think it's worth the trade if you're going to be mobile at all. The video card isn't great, but it's very nice for the price. It should be able to at least play most of the recent games, but not on high settings.

Unfortunately, that's more of a beat because the newer games that people rave about (and this is just my opinion) are great if you can really crank the settings and enjoy the visuals - but they don't have nearly as much to offer in the form of gameplay as they should.

I would probably upgrade the RAM to 4GB. It's pretty cheap if you do it yourself. That's a must if you get stuck with Vista. 2GB of RAM with Vista will hinder your game experience more than the HDD speed.

+1.

If you're gonna try this, at least get it with vista 64 and upgrade to 4-6 gb of ram. You'll need it.

The card isn't nearly as good as it seems. It will play current games on decent settings, and newer ones (probably not crysis 2) on lower settings.

I don't think all the laptops out there recognize, or at least recognize and use, more than 4 gigs of RAM these days, unlike their desktop counterparts. Could be wrong though. I know that my Gateway 7811FX does not. Also, it comes with two RAM slots and they are presently not making 4gig DDR3 laptop RAM sticks.

I guess you guys are right about the vid card. I think I got it confused with another model. Still, it's no stinker. Few games aren't just as good when played at a slightly lower resolution. And 14x9 isn't the highest rez out there. You should still get a lot of games looking good.
