That's what I'm stuck thinking about. Collector really just gives you more of the cards and the 6 alternate art cards, but no one is gonna care about that.

Pro Player gives you the free tourney a week which as mentioned is pretty cool.

Dungeon Crawler Guild Master gives you the EXP boost and 30 bonus packs for friends, which you can apparently gift to yourself if you want.

EDIT: My bad, Daer is right.

Of the $250 Tiers the Pro Player seems far and away the best. Personally I'd say:

1. Pro Player
2. Dungeon Crawler (Assuming you plan to do the PVE portion of the game)
3. Guild Master
4. Collector
5. Raid Leader

That is Guild Master not Dungeon Crawler and its 30 booster packs x 3 for a total of 90 booster packs. Dungeon Crawler is 100% loot drops from bosses for life and 20 rare/legendary equipment.

For anyone who hasn't checked out the kickstarter page there are tiers both lower and higher then the ones listed here but I think these tiers have the most value.

So tempted to get Grand King.

Koolaid confirmed btw.

EDIT: Basically I don't care about Collector and think Raid Leader is kind of lame, but Dungeon Crawler and Guild Master bonuses are sweet, and Pro is a cool design / fun.

The Collector cards you get every year could be worth something for trade though, I'm guessing they will be fairly rare. Raidleader definitely the worst of those tiers.

Quote:
Q. There will be no way to draft with friends without prize support?

A. There will be a way, in our League system.

The idea is so sweet, and I really want to talk about this with you, but since we can't quite fit it into our launch schedule I can't divulge much about it yet. But I tell you what... I'll go chat with some people and see if I can give some details.

This is the first feature we'll come out with after the full launch of the game.
Quote:
Q. Will there be "basic" resources in boosters and starters or are these "free" and not wasting booster space as they are in some paper TCG today?

A. Gems and resources are free and unlimited. You just add them to your deck in deck creation.

You don't have to collect them for Constructed
You don't have to collect them for PvE
You don't have to collect them for Limited
You don't have to collect them for PvP
Quote:
Q. I'm guessing the Deck Building interface will tell you what you can or can not play.

A. Yea, you'll just need to click a button and it will show you the available cards for the format you're building for.

just food for thought- are these guys- crpytozoic working with blizzard on hearthstone and if they aren't why not? why do they decide to create a whole new game from scratch to compete with blizzards.

Cryptozoic make the paper WoW TCG, Blizzard is doing Hearthstone itself. Hearthstone is a more casual, basic TCG, while Hex is a full fledged tcg (plus alot of other awesome stuff). Even though they are both digital tcgs I don't really see them competing directly against each other. I plan to play both although I am now definitely going to only buy cards for Hex and just play Hearthstone for free.

EDIT:

Quote:
15 cards per booster (1 Rare/Legendary, 3 Uncommon, 11 Uncommon) as well as a special treasure chest that will contain a random goodie.

DO IT. JOIN US.

On the Hex kickstarter page click the 'Manage Your Pledge' button right under the total.

Boosters are $2 each, drafts are 3 boosters. They will also offer a $4/month subscription where you get 1 booster a week. I think I saw on the forums that there is a small fee for tournaments but they haven't decided yet.

Boosters are valued at $2 per the kickstarter, not sure what tourneys will cost beyond 3 packs (probably nothing beyond 3 packs though, right?).

MTG:O costs 3 packs + 1 ticket and he said they will have a small fee, so maybe something similar where tickets = $0.50 instead of $1 or something

They said there will be a small fee to account for prizes but didn't announce what it is. I can't see it being more than a $1. If they use tickets maybe you can trade in a booster for 2 tickets or something. Or even use in-game gold.

It is confirmed on their site and in the forums that boosters will be $2 to buy as well.

If they do Sealed Deck Tournaments down the road those are 6 Boosters each. In Sealed Deck you get 6 boosters and have to make your deck out of them. They probably won't happen until more sets are released. Sealed Deck tournaments can be like 6x Set 1 boosters or 3x Set 1, 3x Set 2 or 2x Set 1, 2x Set 2, 2x Set 3, etc.

EDIT:

Quote:
Q. Will the account bonuses like 10% xp, and raid leader +1 in starting hand be available for cash as account upgrades when game is releases?

A. No, we are adamant that the kickstarter rewards are really exclusive to those who were in this with us at the beginning. All of the PvE cards on the KS, the alternate art PvP cards on the KS, and the account blessing (Raid reward, Guild leaders) will never be made available again.

It's important I communicate that all the PvP *cards* (eg, Pack Raptor) *will* be available in boosters, just the KS ones have a different piece of art that will never be available again.

Finally, it's important to know all KS rewards, except 'account blessings' can be freely traded. So there will only be as many Void Marauders as there are people who donated at that level, but those people can trade them to other players if they wish.
Here is a link with a better look at all the Kickstarter exclusive cards: http://hextcg.com/rewards/

Grand King is basically a $1370 value, so for $500 it's probably worth it.

I'm interested in throwing some money at the game, but I never really got into MTG and for even playing just the free demo of MTGO, I never stuck with it.

Is this game completely online? What are the "Deck Customizable Sleeves?"

Seems like there is going to be a huge influx of cards in the beginning. I wonder how much advantage there will be for people who get in early. It also seems like people are going to end up with thousands and thousands of cards.

Basically paying for boosters ahead of time, binking lots of equipment / gems / whatever, and gaining account advantages for grinding purposes later. Assuming the game is cool I'll play a bunch and get value. If not I can probably sell off lots of it and not blink an eye.

EDIT: Or just sell the buffed account. . .

Yes game is completely online. Deck Customizable Sleeves are just the images on the back of the card. The huge influx of cards are all for Set 1 so when new sets are released there will only be a 'normal' amount of new set cards out there.

As far as having thousands and thousands of cards, thats true but only if you open the packs. Save some packs and trade them on the AH later imo. I'm guessing since there will be lots of people with tons of packs at the beginning that packs will be the default currency, initially at least, like 4 packs for a certain Rare on the AH.

Just saw this post on the forums:

I didn't see it until now.
Spectral Lotus and Black Tiger.
I see what you did there.
I got the lotus part but I'm facepalming I didn't get the rest.

for sure, just like in MTG people get thousands but there are primary trade markets + secondary markets to sell them so most people don't retain like 100x of a decent card for a super super long time AFAIK

Also keep in mind that the cards gain EXP themselves, so it's not gonna be a wonderful idea to stockpile vanilla versions of cool cards that you can't level up because of redundancy.

EDIT: I don't get the Spectral Lotus -> Black Tiger joke

Thanks. Yeah, I mean, I don't see myself being ultra-competitive, but it would be cool to get in on this with you guys. I've never gotten involved on Kickstarter, but always thought it would be cool to do so.

I really don't think I can throw $250 or $500 at the game since I have a history of not getting too deeply involved in games.

I can see maybe $35 or $50 being right around my value point - enough to get in early, but not too much that I don't get value back. Plus, with Hearthstone around the corner as well I will most likely play both because who doesn't like free stuff?

Spectral Tiger (loot card) = most expensive card in wow tcg, gives a spectral tiger mount in WoW
Black Lotus = Most expensive card in magic.
