Hey all,

I have had a lot of luck in the past in this forum with this kind of issue. I have had an early 90's video game song stuck in my head for the better part of a month. I was thinking it was either an early Space Quest or Quest for Glory song, but I haven't been able to find the song in either of the soundtracks so far, so I am reaching out to the learned PC gamers around here.

I am almost positive this song came out of an early 90's point and click game, but I obviously can be wrong.

I am no musician, but I think I did a pretty decent job of notating the song out. I am pretty sure one of you guys would have heard this song and will recognize it if you heard it. Hopefully one of you guys can make this song no longer a mystery...

Been playing through Monkey Island 2 recently (again) and I think the sound in the game is way too high quality for the song stuck in my head. I am thinking maybe one of those text parser games like King's Quest 1 or Space Quest 2. My initial thought was Quest for Glory 2, but after going through the entire soundtrack on Youtube, no dice

Ive been listening to a bunch of monkey island/maniac mansion/leisure suit larry soundtracks with no luck.
I really hope someone finds the song this is bugging me now.

The more soundtracks I listen to, the more obsessed I get.

I have no idea where the tune is from but I appreciated the effort to recreate it.

A lot of the games from the early 90s PC sounded different on different sound cards. I remember the first time I went looking for some old Ultima 6 music and I was like "woah, this doens't sound like I remember it" and then I realized the rip was from a different card than I had in my PC at the time.

I'm just going to leave a couple game soundtracks here. Your linked music doesn't jump out at me as familiar, but like I just mentioned, maybe something sounds slightly different from PC Speaker vs. Soundcard MIDI synthesizer stuff. I have a feeling this is going to turn into a "old game soundtrack" thread at this point (or maybe I'm just hoping)

From the stuff you've listed, I assume you're looking at earlier than what I've listed?

In case anybody actually cares two years later (or ever), for some reason the source of the song came to my head out of no where. It was from one of those old Sierra Hoyle card games. I gotta say, I am pretty impressed with my musical notation after hearing the original again.
