This game will not have more people playing than league or dota. A big part of a game growing is the esports community / streamers. LCS / TI / CS MAJORS and STREAMERS are what grow the game. Nobody is going to play this god awful game

It's actually a really good idea IMO, worked for Hearthstone compared to MTG. I would also love to have a LoL where I'm not stuck for 1+ hour including champ select, that alone would bring me to the game. Items are really just a simplified way of giving your champ progress and variation and all that is in HotS.

Honestly, the thing that killed it for me was the maps. Not sure why exactly.

MtG isn't free to play, few people play it, and has ******ed developers. Awful comparison imo

We will see when it gets out of beta. My bet is that by then it will have the maps and the gameplay to get most of the loyal blizzard fans to play it which is more than enough to have at least a similar amount of players as league or dota. E-sports and streamers will then follow the same way they did with wow arena which almost everyone agreed on being horrible when it was released.

League is bigger than the current blizzard games so just attracting blizzard fans wont be enough.

I don't think Heroes need to dethrone LoL or DOTA2 to be successful. Blizzard is targetting a more casual niche like they did with Hearthstone and there will be plenty of people playing this game for them to drive a profit and be successful.

The competitive scene and streamers and whatnot will come once Blizzard starts throwing money at tournaments, just like what happened to Hearthstone when suddenly people realized there was big money involved.

I think I just got my beta invite today. Signed up a week or two ago. From what I've seen on streams, the game doesn't look particularly different or exciting. But I do love me some Blizzard characters.

Hearthstone alone has 20 million players. I agree Heroes probably won't beat league but it will be big enough.

Dumb question: A friend of mine just bought the founders pack and got me interested in the game. Is the best way to get into the beta the founders pack or are there keys floating around for cheaper?

Hearthstone is by far the best game in it's genre, that not a lot of free to play online games exist in. Heroes is not close to being the best game in its genre (my opinion), and there are tons of free to play MOBA's just like it.

There are beta key giveaways on streams or websites. There are also beta keys for sale for less than the cost of a founder's pack, but you can't guarantee the legitimacy of those sites. I'm guessing some of those were just bought off people who won them through other means.

A lot of the keys that are for sale on other websites are not actually keys but entire battlenet accounts. People create tons of battlenet accounts and sell the ones that get beta invites. Buying them is risky because the seller has the original email account linked to the battlenet account and can take it back anytime.

Seems good, Tassadar is OP even after Psi Storm got nerfed. I always take the distortion beam but I guess there is a good argument for shrink ray.

As far as general advice goes, in the early game try to stay in lane if there's no one else there so you can leech xp for your team. You can press alt + [spell] to self cast, which is useful for tassadars Q. Oracle vision is really nice for farting on zeratul when you see him walking up (but can't really SEE him). Fight for objectives and control the jungle. Don't get caught out and die for nothing. In late game team fights it's really important to keep your carries shielded if taking damage, throw storms down on people before casting Archon. Archon does ridic damage. Tassadar's not really a support champion, he's more of a mage.

I guess that's it for now, feel free to add me I'll probably be mixing it up a bit more with this game now that they added ranked.

so, is the 5€ pack with 3 heroes worth it?

It's not a bad bundle to start off with. You get a so-so ranged char, a so-so tank, and a so-so support. Plus you get a mount that's exclusive to that bundle.

What heroes do you guys suggest buying first?

Depends on your play style.

Valla for assassin
Raynor or Tychus for more assassin

Stitches/Diablo are pretty strong for tank, I think pricey. Arthas is nice also.

Tassadar, LiLi, Uther are easy as hell supports. Have to throw in the mention of Brightwing, because I like him.

Specialists, I'm not a fan of(my playstyle), I also don't know much about the people who were released after Chen, sooo

Warriors: Tyrael, stitches
Assassin: Raynor, Valla, Zeratul (takes practice but op)
Support: Tassadar, lili
Specialist: Witch doctor (nazeebo i think?)

Champs with displacement or gap closers.

Stealthers are good also.

As a noob you want heroes that are tankish to compensate your bad positioning. Tychus as ranged assassin playing with first aid shield and Odin is pretty forgiving for a ranged assassin.
Arthas as a tank do alot of damage and is pretty solid.
Lili is an easy support.
I would avoid specialists at first.

About sergeant hammer the character counter itself by it lack of mobility.
Anyway to start you ll want to try character when they are free no need to buy something you didn't test at level 4 with all abilities.
