Considering pretty much the entire european zone is cut out of the event and therefore doesn't give a **** (and I don't think it's that popular in the US either) I don't think that muscle flexing is going to impress anyone.
Getting a game that is still in beta on ESPN impressed me. It certainly shows how much marketing power Blizzard has. In the end professional e-sport works just like any other sport. Money talks and the top players will play where they can earn the most.
Arizona would have won if the tank knew how to play Diablo, which was strange because I didn't notice him being out of line in previous play; maybe even if he would have played etc the whole time. So many ineffective lightning breaths and not using charge tactics correctly, simply choosing apocalypse may have been enough to swing the series. Good games regardless overall, and nice to see it go 3-2.
The announcers were over eager and had basically two tones, loud and scream. Guess you can't expect seasoned talent for esports yet and that's fine.
Its kinda funny that a guy, who thinks Heroes is a type of League of Legends 'battle,' is worried we will force him to do play by play. No thanks.
+1 pretty much every esport announcer gets overly tryhard excited about really uninteresting stuff. Simply put, a lot of the stuff is just boring and being obnoxious is the current bandaid of choice.
I downloaded this recently to get to level 12 for the hearthstone card back and man these games are hard. Even a dumbed down MOBA like HOTS requires a ton of skill. I have a question about Raynor. He's supposed to be one of the easiest to play so I was playing with him a bit and he seems to suck. All he has are basic attacks and the one shotgun-blast type attack. How are you supposed to be effective with little more than basic attacks (albeit buffed up ones)? Or are you supposed to just do the marine stutter step on all your enemies? I have been having more success with Jaana though since she actually seems to have abilities.
Raynor is not much fun to play. He can annoy others while laning because he outranges most heroes and his ults are ok but I hardly ever play him anymore.
Tanks are fun to start with as they are more forgiving when you make a mistake or you can always join the crowd and play Nova.
Right now I am playing Anub'arak and I like how everyone underestimates his beetles and ult. Diablo and Stitches are also fun to play.
I want from Hammer as main to Zagara, and holy **** does she dish out. I'm top hero dmg pretty much every single game by quite a margin and quite some games even siege + hero. If I have a solo Hammer in the lane against me it's pretty much GG for her.
Super effective and fun to play, def a top tier imho.
Hammer has much better ults than Zagara. Biggest advantage Zagara has is that most people don't bother killing the creep. They are both fun to play but I think hammer is better if you can anticipate team fights and can get there in time.
